Funny note, about half of Brennon Scott's latest retweets are Texas-related. DGF, Whittington, and Hullaby's little brother.

FWIW, a bunch of 247 mods (including Wiltfong) went "?" on their Brennan Scott CBs about 10 day ago. (Don't know which school they were on before.)

Gabe Brooks and Roach did the same early this morning.

They were all on Kansas, they did it before he committed there.

Adding Dixon, Collins, and Dunson gives us 274.09, good for #7 in the composite with 20 commits. Every other team in the top 10 has at least 23, except UGA and LSU.

#6 is A&M with 280.09 with 23. We're probably not passing them. Adding Williams, Rakestraw, and Princely puts us at 278.54. So not happening.

Majors looks like he needs a few years with Yancy. And Card’s hands do look crazy small.

I'm actually encouraged by Majors' build. Wide and stocky. Good for a center, especially one as fluid and athletic as he is. He'll have a year and a half before he needs to compete for a starting spot.

Overshown and Owens both seem like they’re playing out of position in the secondary. Your other 2 are crazy talk.

Owens looked like could could do well as a safety playing over the top. He certainly has the speed. He got beat a couple times when he was in single coverage on WRs.

The smartest thing Ash can do is rename a LB position with a stupid name (Predator, buck, joker, milf hunter, etc) 18 year olds will like.  Tell Overshown the best player will be featured to attack and cover.  Overshown would rather sit on the bench or transfer than move to LB.  He dominated when they placed him in the joker position against Tech.

Speaking of...when does Owens move to LB?

Stick to shitposting on the coaching staff thread. It’s more your speed.
Foster would be the best LB of the group, and he’d struggle at S in this new defense, plus we don’t need him there. I’d be for both Foster and Overshown spinning down this offseason, but Owens should stay at Safety.

None of us know what exactly Ash will do on defense so we're left to guess, but the highest upside for the defense is likely training both Foster and Overshown at linebacker (where they'd likely be competing against Tillman and Gbenda), playing Jamison and Thompson at nickel, and having Brown, Adimora, Owens, and Estell compete for the other safety spot next to Sterns. The other LB spot is the best of Mitchell, Adeoye, Tillman, Gbenda, Walkons, or a grad transfer if there's one out there better than anyone we have. Since Foster has to be on the field since he's one of our best players, if he can't beat out Overshown/Tillman/Gbenda at what's likely the field linebacker spot, then he probably takes the strong safety spot over the other group.

Overshown needs to embrace playing a big safety/linebacker hybrid spot if he wants to ever get paid.

He just seems to have a frame that could support the weight gain necessary to transition to LB...Foster’s body disintegrates on contact, makes me question how well he would hold up closer to the line of scrimmage.
