Sam Raimi maybe taking over Doctor Strange

https://variety.com/2020/film/news/doctor-strange-2-sam-raimi-1203475309/

Quote

Sam Raimi, who helped launch the modern superhero movie with 2002’s “Spider-Man,” is in talks to direct “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” for Marvel Studios, Variety has learned.

Raimi replaces original director Scott Derrickson, who Variety reported on Jan. 9 had officially departed the project due to creative differences. Derrickson will remain as an executive producer. Raimi, meanwhile, will need to get up to speed before the film’s scheduled production start date in May

EXCLUSIVE: Evan Peters Playing Mystery Role in ‘WANDAVISION’

Quicksilver was one of the things that Fox did better than the MCU. Aaron Taylor Johnson saying "Bet you didn't see that coming" before he keels over and dies was one of the most groan inducing scenes in the MCU, right up there with "Do you like apples? How do you like them apples?"

But there's probably no way he plays a multiverse version of Quicksilver. That'd be too confusing.

Wandavision looks like it is all over the place (tripping balls), and it is either exploring the multiverse or is Legion levels of drugs.  I think having the X-men version of quicksilver may not break the top 10 confusing things about this show.

I just want to see her in and out of as many outfits as possible.   I'm digging the 50's June Cleaver chic.

Holy Shit.  And there were rumors already out there that they were bringing in villains and Toby Maguire from the Sam Raimi Spidey movies, and Sam is directing the Doctor Strange Into the Multiverse.

And Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro from Raimi's 2014 Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Man I must have seen a spoof title, because it was definitely not that one.  I'm glad.

Holland and someone else posted two joke titles yesterday - Phone Home and Home Wrecker.

Tony Leung is a bad ass. We'll actually get a proper Mandarin.

Ha, now I want an infernal affairs twist on the Mandarin story.

They do not appear to be sparing any expense with this movie.

Looking through the stunt crew, the coordinators all have very impressive backgrounds, including a bunch of Jackie Chan work, a lot of Marvel work.

Michelle Yeoh and Fala Chen are both very easy on the eyes, interested to see where they are at (Yeoh was in Guardians/Galaxy v2).

Not really MCU since this is the closest to a MCU thread, both Olivia Colman (The Crown) and Emilia Clarke (Khaleesi from Game of Thrones) are in talks to be in the Nick Fury Secret Invasion show that will be out in a few years.
