Funny, I was coming to post the single sounds like a Zach Bryan song and not in a good way. It is super generic to me

Yeah, I don't hear that at all.

I’m a fairly passive listener of Sarah Shook and the Disarmers but just saw this - breaking up the band, I assume she’ll continue solo or put together some new group

I've never heard her or heard of her, but I'd wager that she's got a big hairy bush

Stephen Wilson is excellent.  “American Gothic” absolutely slays me and hits very close to home.  “Year to Be Young” is such an excellent snapshot of being a kid in the 90’s.

I was unaware of this guy until catching up on this thread, but he slams bigly.

Just saw him play an hour + set at Mile 0 Fest last week.  My wife, who had not really previously listened to him, was blown away.  One of the best sets of the week.

And got to see a little band play 6 songs together for the first time in 15 years.  Go by the name of Cross Canadian Ragweed.  (To say that it was an electric moment would be a bit of an understatement.)

We have tickets for Stillwater. Mostly I am going to pay homage to The Great Divide, who was my first introduction into non-mainstream country, when I was in college.

I am with you on The Great Divide.  They were not there but the Mike McLure Band was, and they played a day set that was kick ass....one of my favorites of the week.  He can still bring it.

I’m split between loving Stephen Wilson and loving him and feeling like he has too much shit on his voice

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard this song and a few other from Plains without realizing it’s Jess from college, goddamn, good for her.

I read this at first and was like, "Oh shit, Jason Lee and Billy Crudup are hitting the road?"  Very disappointed.

I think she was at UT, although it could have been St Ed’s. She was part of my circle of friends (which centered around a changing network of like 6-7 bands and an art studio) circa 2006 until I fell off the face of the earth around 2013.

Sierra Ferrell cleaning up at the Grammy’s

good for her

Quote

On Sunday (2-2) during the Grammy’s “Premier Ceremony” that precedes the big telecast on CBS, Sierra Ferrell nearly swept the American Roots categories where she was nominated four times. Ferrell won all four categories, walking away with trophies for Best Americana Album (Trail of Flowers), Best American Roots Song (“American Dreaming” with co-writer Melody Walker), Best Americana Performance (“American Dreaming”), and Best American Roots Performance for “Lighthouse.”

These wins will not just make Sierra Ferrell one of the biggest winners in country and roots music. It will make her one of the biggest Grammy getters in 2025, if not the biggest before the night is over.
