The Death of Tony Timpa

Timpa died while in custody of Dallas Police officers.  After a 3 year court battle, the Dallas Morning News obtained the body cam footage. It was released yesterday.  The 6 minute video gives some background facts.

The Dallas County DA chose not to prosecute the officers, who are heard laughing and joking as Timpa dies, and dropped the charges. They are all back on the job after being put on administrative leave

Some more background info.

If Creuzot dropped the indictments, my first instinct is to believe there's not much of a criminal case there.  Creuzot is not "in cahoots" with law enforcement as a general proposition.  Pressure could be getting to him, though.

Here's the civil suit, filed by former Daily Texan editor Geoff Henley.  https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4059846-Third-Amended-Complaint-Timpa.html#document/p7/a378322

Motherfuckingsonofabitchbastards, every one of those c********** badge wearing pieces of shit need to be flayed alive while battery acid is slowly dripped on them, and then the serious punishment should start. (See "Law Abiding Citizen")

Whohttps://www.dallasnews.com/news/dallas-police/2019/03/18/deadly-conduct-charges-dismissed-dallas-police-officers-2016-death-tony-timpa-called-911-help

"These three officers who have been cleared by the department's [investigative] divisions and also by the county's investigative unit should have never been indicted," Mata said.

He said his "heart goes out to the Timpa family" for their loss, but he defended the officers involved.

Mata said he supports the release of the 911 call, the autopsy report, as well as the body camera footage "showing that these officers did not abuse Mr. Timpa but restrained him with the least amount of force while waiting for medical emergency personnel."

Fuck you Mata.

They're shitty human beings for laughing at the crazy man while they drug him to Bolivia.

I don't know what Cruezot was supposed to do other than this.

If someone has a contrary opinion to what Twice said I'd like to hear it. Being a shithead doesn't mean you are a murderer. Culpability? Well. That's another question.

It's a goddamn shame. But...what good does it do to run a case you can't prove?

Get every one of them off the street though. Die under paper.

Meh, I don't have much of a problem with the video at all. If you've ever worked in a county ED like Ben Taub or Parkland, you see this shit all the time. Cops at first didn't seem to be hyper-aggressive with him, just wanted to restrain him for their own protection.  These kinds of patients come in flopping like a fish out of water one minute and in deep sleep the next

Don't want to fucking die? Don't get off your psych meds and get high on other shit. It's not like this guy was likely a productive member of society anyway.  As someone who's had to deal with family involved with this shit, I can give you firsthand testimony that these people are wastes of life.  I'll give the boys in blue a pass on this one. The "sedative" may have been a tad much, though. Lol

My experience is different.  Everyone deserves to be treated with basic human decency in a time of need.

I see plenty of people emerge from addiction and mental illness.... from a seemingly hopeless state.....and become a whole person again....returning to family, friends, the workforce, and adding to the lives of others in a positive way.

Do all of them?  No, but I'm not the judge of who's life has value and who's doesn't.

In fact, I believe that it's only seconds and inches that separate my current state with those both more and less fortunate than I.

I can't judge anyone to be a waste b/c I could be in that same spot if the seconds and inches in my life would have fallen just ever so differently.

Just my take....your mileage my vary.

That knee in the back after he's cuffed and has calmed makes me claustrophobic and fearful of asphyxiation just watching the video. I've seen plenty of video where they do this to arrested people who are not resisting.

The whole "protect the officer" protocol has gone nuts. This death seems to be negligent homicide because police have become complacent about the extreme methods used to keep people subdued.

And of course they're having a good time. That's why they signed on.

Yeah, wtf is up with kneeling on a person's back? If his hands and ankles are cuffed, why is this necessary? It looks like they squeezed the life out of him ala Eric Garner. Fuck these pieces of shit. They have no right to restrict a person's ability to FUCKING BREATHE. And what was the purpose of the sedative when he already had stopped moving/breathing or doing anything? Standard procedure? The cops/paramedics are 100% responsible for the death of this man. Had they not shown up to "serve and protect", he would still be alive....at least he would not have died that day.

And a big fuck you to Fat bastard and anyone who agrees with him. Have some neg, bitch
