Defeating Alabama was no mean achievement. It has value but doesn't make A&M number one in football. Or even number four.

Control your exuberance, PhlAggie. The contagion of overstating the meaning of A&M's victory seems to have spread to other areas of judgment. You've got a fine school. You're not seeing eye-to-eye with Vandy or UT (not the Tennessee one).

It's self-diminishing to boast of things that are clearly untrue. It's an Aggie tradition in many ways, but you should abandon it.

You might be surprised.

anyone that cares about academics isn't choosing aggy over texas for any metrics aside from vet school.  i know aggies love to cherry pick limited slices of metrics that show they are better in some single area, but as academic institutions overall there is simply no comparison.

I hire a bunch of engineering and computer science majors every year.  Rarely do any aggys even pass the first round. It's a diploma Mill and rankings will soon catch up

I cannot overstate how many students leave their business school with a 3.9 GPA or higher. It’s a complete fucking joke for large firms hiring from Texas public schools. We basically just ignore GPA there unless it’s below 3.75 or so, at which point we assume they read and write at a 3rd grade level. (No offense to the bright 9 year olds out there)

eh, as if most football players are going to even notice for a moment that UT is ranked (by one fucking magazine no less; other ratings and rankings show different outcomes, if people want to play that game) #38-- alongside UC Davis and Georgia Tech no less!-- while A&M is ranked #68. If academics were such an important criteria for these fellows, I bet Rice would have top ranked recruiting classes without breaking a sweat, considering that it's ranked #17, right alongside Cornell.

But hey, maybe UT boosters will keep pushing the "playing school" angle on these recruits. :D

Or they’ll just point out that Texas dominates aggy in everything….past, present, future.

Yeah, that's not exactly a rejection of being interested in the LSU job itself. It would be nice if they would show the actual question asked and the full answer.

I don’t see Jimbo jumping to LSU. LSU fans are as delusional as they come. One of my buddies asked me if I thought Lincoln Riley would jump at a mega offer like Jimbo got. He’s a multi millionaire doctor who follows this stuff closely. The rumors that come out of that place are silly.

"Fulfilling my whole contract" = LSU better pay up if they want me.

His victory over Alabama may make him attractive to another SEC school. We're not the only fan base that views the world based only on what we've seen in the past week.

You can be down on our fanbase without invoking basic human cognitive issues such as recency bias as some form of unique problem occuring with our fanbase and a couple of bands of idiots in the SEC, Roma. Don't get lazy with your disdain. Or go do that on 247 or something.

This is correct. There are several posts on Texag already about what kind of raise he should get post Bama win. Really was their championship, I guess.

My son, who is senior (at Texas) currently applying to grad schools, has complained since his freshman year about UT's grade scale to GPA and how it makes his GPA look worse than someone applying from another school, like A&M.

Here is the scale for Texas.  His main beef is that A- isn't a 4

A 4
A- 3.67
B+ 3.33
B 3
B- 2.67
C+ 2.33
C 2
C- 1.67
D+ 1.33
D 1
D- 0.67

Here is aggy:

Letter Grade    Grade Points
A    4.00
B    3.00
C    2.00
D    1.00
F    0.00
U    0.00

Do you and he not believe that the “University of Texas at Austin” in front of his gpa helps him more than the “Texas a&m university” in front of his aggy grad competitor’s?

Bear back to UGA.  aggy is going to throw everything they have left in the money bags at Walter Nolan.  He's already coming back this weekend.  They really have no choice as they were banking on getting at least two of Bear/Dindy/Nolan at DT.  Not sure what plan B is for them.

Also, does they Georgia DB/WR flip back to UGA now?

Bear! Don't go!

I guess they just have to go further down the list of five stars they're chasing instead of the shitty four star players we got.

I would think Bouie would be in line to do just that, Bear going to be all up in his ear.

Who knows, I could be wrong like I probably will be on Stewart to UF (wtf is Dan Mullen doing?). It seems like they’ll get a silent from Nolen this weekend and White is likely already a silent. Stewart has A&M as his leader rn but he’s a South Florida kid so expect the unexpected often. Lucas is strange because his visits don’t line up with his supposed top schools at all.

To be clear, I meant Shemar Stewart has A&M as his leader. Evan Stewart is listening to their pitch and will visit A&M this weekend, but I don’t buy their optimism on him. It’ll be interesting to see if Chris Marshall falls in love with Bama in the coming weeks as well.

They'll sign some good guys but competition is fierce for those elite DLs. Hard to hold onto all of them when Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, etc are involved. Shenanigans!

Yeah that’s true, though Miami and Tennessee have pretty weak recruiting (and coaching) staffs at the moment. Miami seems to think they can lure Cristobal there, but that seems nonsensical. Georgia is interesting because their elite play this season seems to be remedying lots of mistakes in recruiting over the offseason.

How much does it pay?

that's pretty sneaky because how can you fulfill a "whole" contract when you don't really have a contract.  aggy has a piece of paper with words written on it but Jimbo is basically an hourly worker at this point.

That's ~$1140/hr even in his sleep. I'd move to BCS for a year for that & then GTFO & blow it all trying to forget that armpit
