They also spent all offseason repping McCulloch and Ossai as Mac/Rover, now McCulloch is injured and Ossai is playing Nickel.

Since TO has been here we seem to have wasted Spring/Summer/Fall camp. Every year they miss on evaluations and do not show signs of on field development likely to not having a base defense to master. Oh the irony of Coach reciting the definition of insanity for 3 years.

I don't think the evals are the problem - we're hitting on bluechips that are the top of every program's board. It's the development (and the injuries).

I meant player evals once on campus. Starting Hughes and Hagar at LB in year 1. Starting Roach at MLB and Hagar at 4i last year are some of the examples. We are lead to play dumb fb.

Maybe if Orlando stopped blitzing them against 300lbs they wouldn't be so banged up

Which of the DBs were injured blitzing into the oline? All of the ones I recall were injured tackling someone.

When are we going to see Jordan Whittington back? Or at this point are we just going to redshirt him?

According to his aunt who I know, as of last Wednesday, he hoped to come back for TCU but his family thought he was rushing back from the hernia surgery.

Really excited about Jordan Whittington.  I think he is a difference maker.

Hell of an athlete, but unproven to this point. I don’t consider it to be his fault, obviously has been injured. His return though does provoke some thought as to where he fits. I mean, Roschon can’t just be pat on the back and shelved. At this point Whittington has to beat someone, maybe it’s Ingram, but he can’t just be given 15 carries a game.

Jordan was brought in as a receiver if I remember correctly.

He was RB2 to start the season. Entire reason for Ro ever taking a snap at RB this year.

Yeah, but @Rhinotx is right, he was recruited as a wideout. Striking out on Sanders/Cain forced the RB transition.

Got ya. I guess I just fail to see the relevancy in such, given the present. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Any update on when we are going to start getting some of these players back on d?

In the TH Presser today, he mentioned Cook was a possibility this weekend.

  • Whittington not likely, but progressing
  • Green practicing, but unsure about shoulder
  • Overshown's back hurting, will have it checked

We’ve had about 75 or 80 players nicknamed “the shark” the past couple years it seems. There should be legislation banning that as a nickname option. Especially when the defense plays like minnows.

Did I read somewhere (IT maybe) that Green was expected back this week?

Herman said he was practicing, the initial diagnosis was a month, which was a little over a month ago. Wondering if it's confirmed he's playing tomorrow.

Has Herman mentioned anything about getting Chris Brown back this year? Can a DB come back from a broken arm in the same season?

It's not like our defense uses their arms for anything so sure he could come back.

I wonder if Sterns is still considering a redshirt?  It was a rumor at some point.   I hope he makes it back for the home stretch.  I believe he is the tone setter in that secondary with the way he plays in the open field.
