ESPN GAME DAY

It will be an interesting call for Gameday. You would expect them at Ohio State/Oregon along with Big Noon Kickoff. Though if Kirk calls Texas OU, Gameday will be at the State Fair. If Kirk calls Ole Miss/LSU at 6:30 then that makes sense logistically to be in Eugene.

It was obvious. First time going to an Oregon/fous game.

but looks like we may be back on for the UGA/Tex game possibly 1 v. 4 matchup

I think it’s probably a safe bet they will be in Austin for the UGA game.   If OU was a top 10 right now they might have chosen Dallas, but I still doubt it because they don’t normally don’t feature a team two weeks in a row.  I really think ESPN wants to use a potential Austin appearance to hype up the FI weekend in Austin as well.

Fuck being at aggy twice

Yeah

But it could be the highest ranked matchup that weekend if A&M wins the matchups they’re favored in.

And they’ll definitely want to  be there anyway for the renewal of the rivalry.

8 hour trip from berkley to Eugene, and then 32 hours from Eugene to Austin. trucks probably wont roll into Austin until wednesday assuming they leave saturday afternoon/evening after tear down unless each of the trucks in their fleet  has 2 drivers in it

Imagine hitching your wagon to the big xii. Fucking idiots at fox.

FOX got last pick of the Big Ten games this week.

NBC got fOSU/Oregon

CBS got Pedo/USC

FOX only does games on FOX so their choices this week were limited to:

Washington/Iowa
Purdue/#23 Illinois
Minnesota/UCLA
Rutgers/Wisconsin
Arizona/#14 BYU
#11 Iowa State/West Virginia

Fox must have gotten a lot for trading away the first selection this week.

They got tOSU/Michigan and Michigan/Texas, then they traded the #3 pick to NBC who picked fOSU/Oregon. They did this because putting a West Coast game in Oregon on FOX’s Big Noon time slot (the only Saturday time slot FOX can use, since they gave CBS and NBC exclusive time slots) would have started the game at 9am local time.

For a network that promotes their Big Noon game as THE game to watch every week, they are putting some real duds out there.

I don't know if they thought all of that through with the west coast Big 10 expansion. Out of an 18 team conference, they can't televise 4 of them when they are at home in that slot. And there's a good chunk of the rest of that conference with little to no national draw.

The additions of Oregon and Washington were both after this deal was already in place. Still, it’s clear that giving both CBS and NBC exclusive windows was an obvious mistake.

I think they’ll trade a game or two each season to CBS/NBC so going forward they can broadcast later games as an exception to those exclusive windows once or twice a year.

FOX also should start promoting games they don’t broadcast. They are the top broadcasting partner of the Big Ten and they are going to Provo promoting BYU while Gameday goes to cover one of that conference’s biggest games of the year. That makes no sense.

This. Big Noon Marshall at fOSU is FOX’s Vietnam.

It is pretty funny if they are not going to broadcast big home games for any of the West Coast schools because it does not fit in their window and then they have Friday games that Michigan and Nebraska have basically said they refuse to play in (anymore for Nebraska).  It seems like they are paying for tOSU and Michigan home games and then a bunch of filler.

The additional Friday night games were an agreement to get Oregon and Washington money from FOX. Without them their money would have come out of Nebraska’s pocket.

Michigan, Ohio St, and Penn State did not opt out of Friday night games, its just that their games were not approved by NBC/CBS to drop past the top 3 picks to the FS1/BTN inventory. Ohio State versus Marshall on FOX pulled 4 million viewers while Nebraska vs UTEP on FOX only pulled 1.6 million. Nebraska versus Illinois on Friday pulled 4.2 million.

That’s why Nebraska will continue to play on Friday and Ohio State will not.
