Ajax was given a little make-up call with only 4 minutes of stoppage time.  that's pretty standard in your run of the mill game.  this was not run of the mill.  4 goals in the second half, plus two guys sent off, and a PK.  refs felt bad for Ajax and only added 4 minutes.  could have been 7.

credit Ajax.  they did some attacking when they were 2 men down.  they didn't just park the bus.

Yup but fortunately the better team took home a point even after such a poor first half. Credit to Dave and the boys for putting together a strong second half to stay tied at the top of the group.

If not for Chelsea - Ajax, everyone would be talking about Dortmund coming back from 2-0 down to beat Inter 3-2 in another wild game.

Spurs went keystone cops for a bit in the box, but got the opening goal. Hit the post and a cross bar trying to score (as well as a stop on the line).

So this was the Bravo straight red for a last man foul.

It's very clear that the player solid the foul by going down. But given the fact that Atalanta wouldn't score and would draw 1-1, I wonder if they would have been better staying up and maybe getting that ball and tapping it in.  Thoughts?

Here's another angle:

It's one of those plays that you would like to have the ref explain. It's a studs up tackle that misses the ball and denies an "obvious goal scoring possibility", so it's easy to give the red regardless of contact or not.

big game right now.  Real v. PSG.  Real takes the lead on a gorgeous build up.  Hazard made a great run.  Benzema cleaned it up. 1-0 para los Blancos.
Big game? Psg already had group won before match

Sure its 2 big clubs but the result is meaningless for psg

Spurs got 1 of the 2 back just before the half on a defensive howler by Olympiacos.
Big goal either way for ya...gotta feel better about needing 1 in 2nd half over needing 2

Draw puts you thru i believe, right?

Advance with any non-loss result that matches Red Star.

At first I thought they just needed to equal Red Star, but a loss let's Olympiacos back in the mix.

yeah, y'all are right.  when 2 of the 6 richest clubs in the world with some of the most insane talent in the world meet for only the 10th time in their history, it's meaningless.

i get that this match doesn't have much impact on the group stage table, but this game isn't meaningless.  this game is a barometer for both teams about where they are and where they can go.  and the talent here is sick.

Real up 2-0.

Scratch that.  Mbappe just scored.

Meaningless in terms of advancement in this tournament. All games have meaning.

Except for the Carabao Cup...
