I still don’t understand the Chuck hates Prince because he’s too rich dynamic. Chuck vs Axe made sense because it was a deeply personal conflict. Thank God they’re bringing Axe back for the final season.

counterpoint - he's been in like 4 scenes.

also this show has the awkwardest cameos since entourage.

At some point all this ‘we got to take Prince down and get back at him’ has to happen. And they’ve set it up with multiple huddle meetings of Axe, Wags, Wendy and Taylor plus Chuck and Axe and Wendy. And then they fade out after they start talking. If it’s not a grand ending it’ll be disappointing.

OK when I posted the above I was only through episode nine. Episodes 10 and 11 are killer. Looking forward to seeing how they wrap it all up!

Yes, I am just hoping they can stick the landing and get it over with. This show lost so much when they lost Axe so hopefully his return can save the ending.

so the ticket is prince+dunlop and we’re just not gonna say anything?
Lol took the words right out of my mouth.

If Sorkin, Koppelman, et al don't have a doozy of a tennis insult in the finale I'm gonna be extremely disappointed.

Ending was corny, typical last series episode, but it was good. Nice wrap up.

The whole time I was thinking “we should do the super mega happy ending”

Finally slugged our way through the “Bobby in Exile” episodes and almost forgot to watch it through to the end. Glad we did. The last few episodes leading up to the finale redeemed the series.

Season 7 played all the hits, but it dragged in the middle. I'm sorry, I don't give a shit about Chuck and Wendy's kid passing a driving test. They spent what, 1.5 episodes in the final season on the subject. Why?

I really liked The Owl episode. That's classic Billions. Wealth + exclusivity porn.

Spoiler

An independent winning the presidency seems extremely unlikely in modern times. Prince is courting Democratic endorsements, just make him a Democrat. It's fine. No one would have cared. Just an unnecessary plot hole.

Axe digging up the mountain climber/cuckold was the peak of his powers. Good twist of the knife.

Some big dramatic license swings in Prince's undoing. I don't see a guy that sharp putting his entire fund into an AI algorithm developed by a disgruntled former employee. Yes I understand he was attempting to create a blind trust to eliminate presidential conflicts of interest, but there many other ways to get there.

A satisfying ending for all our protagonists. I'd watch a Sacker + Connerty spinoff. Connerty working at Benihana was some funny shit.

Stray thoughts:

- Good to know I'll never have to watch Asia Kate Dillon on film ever again. Good luck lady(?).

- Mafee becoming a full blown pothead was pretty funny. I need to check out Dan Soder's stand up act.

- Louis from Suits as Dr. Feelgood was the brightest spot of the post Axe Billions Era. He kills in every scene and was a welcome addition to the Chucks Crew.

- I don't love Wags softening. The series ends with Axe regaining his edge, and Wags receding into the sunset. I'd like to imagine a world where Axe and Wags are snapping necks and cashing checks with the vest bros on Wall Street.

-The whole eating shit fetish was weird AF, even for Wags.
