Katy-North Shore, ESPNU now, Game thread

Katy’s Jordan Patrick looks electric. Run game is typical Katy football, but agree that the Katy defense looks better than usual.

I generally hate all things Katy, but given the recent developments at North Shore, I couldn’t be happier with a potential Katy win.

someone explain to me how Evans is the #1 recruit in the nation. I've seen him twice now, meh.

I have, too, and same.  You might want to ask the LT people about him; he apparently went in dry and wiped his dick on their drapes when he was done.

someone needs to tell their coach he's got a stud RB for use in the 2nd half.  Called the game with the lead as if they were trailing.  Holy furk...

Zach Evans was a big part of NS's domination of LT. I think he had about 20 carries for close to 200 yards. But their backup had a 100 yards too. Evans looked bigger and thicker last year. He looked skinny during the game last night. Im not sure if he lost weight or not but he looked different. The biggest reason NS dominated LT was the line play on both sides. NS's offensive line did whatever they wanted with LT's front 7. Same goes for NS's D vs LT's offensive line. Last year, NS's lines did the same thing to Katy, maybe not to the same degree.  From watching the game last night, it does not look like NS has even close to the same level of line play on either side of the ball. It will be interesting to watch if they figure it out over the season.

Katy was better conditioned, better prepared, more motivated, and more concerned with winning the game. North Shore looked like they'd rather be somewhere else. Good win for Katy, but means little. The game that matters is the Region 3 final in December. I'd be shocked if these two teams aren't in that game.

I'd be shocked if they were.  If they both win their districts, they'd play in the region semis, like they did last season.

So you're saying North Shore didn't want to be there? Sounds like they're SEC-ready to me!

NS played Katy first game last year also but didnt have much trouble with them. Katy dominated the second half.

He's definitely a test freak with great camp numbers. He's a four star top 20 back to me but I'm with you - no clue how he's considered a "generational" talent or #1 recruit. He's played behind really good o-lines on teams with other threats the D had to account for and he performed, but not much different than the other backs on the same teams, just more touches.
