Well, anything except for selling the team

The writing was on the wall for Garrett in his first 2 seasons. We blew a huge lead in the 2nd half vs the Lions. Up late against the Pats with the ball and we call 3 give up runs and punt. Pretty much like Turtle Tom. He iced his own fucking kicker against the Cardinals that negated a game winning FG and then we lose. The Giants sunday night game we go up like 11 or 13 or whatever, and we go into turtle mode again.Quick 3 and out. Giant score in like a few plays. Then we have to punt again when Miles lost the ball in the lights. Giants easily score again and then win.

Against the Ravens in 2012, Garrett goes into turtle mode when we were like 40 yards away and then forces Bailey to kick a mid 50s FG to try and win (and we miss and lose).

Garrett does not even know the bare bones basics of managing a game, much less adjusting, implementing a scheme and putting his players in the best position to win.

We are playing Candyland while other teams are playing chess. I would say Checkers or Connect 4 but even those have too much strategy in them for Garrett.

That's really bad news.  XSF was a travesty in pass protection yesterday.  Hope he heals quickly and can get back in the offseason strength program.  Needs to continue to get stronger and better.

In hindsight, 2014 really set us back about 5 years. Garrett was fresh off of 3 straight 8-8 seasons, then boom. 12-4, first playoff win in 5 years, and “Dez caught it” BS. His seat was pretty fucking hot back then. Then we had a slew of injury/suspension excuses that gave Jerry a reason to be optimistic about the next few seasons.

And 2015 was nothing but excuses for this terrible staff. Romo goes down and this thing collapses to say the least. 11 straight losses after starting 2-0. That should have been a huge indictment that this staff has no idea how to adjust to injuries. Every single QB we got to fill in for Romo we asked to run his offense, rather than design an offense around that QB's strengths. I get Cassel and Weeden aren't that great but other coaches have been able to win with those guys. That staff should have been fired after that year. If you think about it, Wade was fired after the same exact scenario. Won the division and a wild card game in 2009. Started 1-7 in 2010 and was fired after the GB game. Jason won the division in 2014 and a wild card game. Very next year, we were 2-11 at one point and finished 4-12. Both of those down years, Romo was injured. So why did Jason get a pass and Wade didn't?

Just think, we could have had a fresh coaching staff for 2016 for when Dak and Zeke marked the new era of the core. But nope, we kept this same stale staff and expected different results. Jason has no idea how to actually build on seasons. Every season he has won a playoff game (and its only been 2), we follow it up with junk. No progress at all.

Sadly enough, this team got a spark when Wade was fired midseason and Garrett took over.

Thats exactly why you wait.  Because if Interim coach Kris Richard or whoever does well, then we'd have to give him a look at HC for next season and we're better off cleaning house.

At this point the adjustment needs to be to get back to more run game and playaction off of it. Every pass that isn't short quick game should have playaction or RPO built in.

He sucks all around but is far worse in pass pro. Adjusting the offense and throwing playaction on basically every non running play would at least help slow down the rush. Some QB runs would also help but we know that shit ain't happening with Mr. No Contract QB.

The problem there was they stopped doing what worked, and are still afraid to commit to the run, even though they have committed the most resources to OL and Rb than any timea in the NFL. That's just a stupidass franchise.

But they sure went out of their way to get all these special teams pieces and Tavon Austin, the answer to their return man dreams, even though he had been demoted by his previous teams because he wasn't good at it.

The Oline has regressed. It’s probably more like a top 15 Oline, as opposed to the best Oline in football. Fredrick seems like he’s been sapped of all his power after his shit from last year, Martin is playing with a fucked up back (good luck playing guard with a fucked up back), and Tyron Smith has 10 years under his belt at this point.

I said the same thing from the jump and some people thought I was crazy. I questioned if we should sign Martin to some long extension. This is a passing league now. You don't need some mammoth OL any longer. We are trying so hard to replicate the 90s teams. Except with that OL, they didn't spend anywhere near the resources we have with this line. Tyron, Frederick and Martin are all 1st rounders and locked up long term for big money. Collins is now locked up long term with good money. Then we spent a 2nd rd pick of Williams. Who is garbage. And now it's all crumbling. Tyron will never be what he was early with all his injuries. Frederick will never have that strength again. Martin who never was injured ever in his career going back to high school now has back issues. Good luck with that. Is this Dallas' fault these happened? Nope. But what is their fault is committing so much to one single position on the team and the second it crumbles, we are screwed.

Dallas' roster is a house of cards. It has to stay perfect to stay upright. But once a card crumbles, it will all come apart quickly. Unlike other teams who can have other guys step in and fill in. Other teams also don't spend anywhere near the resources we have on OL.

disagree on the roster.  with the makeup of this team you shouldn’t be this frustrated.

This isn't a running team anymore. The OL is playing old and slow, the middle with Frederick and LG gets zero push in the run game, and the running back is slow, hardly breaks tackles, and doesn't run hard much past the first quarter.

I’m not ready to write off Frederick yet.  Mark Schlereth has the same disease.  He said it took him until the second year back to feel fully at strength.  He was a pro bowler the second year back.

I hope so. Because he is the foundation of this OL. Martin then next. Both are not what they used to be.

Apparently we’re holding kicker tryouts next week for 3 kickers lol. And because we waited until some of the reliable-ish kickers were snatched up (mainly Kai forbath, who the pats signed) one of the kickers, the one we’d be most likely sign, is Nick fucking Rose lol. Just keep Maher at this point.

Like I said the Cowboys are in deep shit. After today they will be tied with the Eagles at 6 and 6. The Eagles are at worst going 3 and 1 in the final four if they lose the Cowboys game. that means the Cowboys have to win three of the last four games including over the Eagles to have a chance to make the playoffs. This team isn't getting that shit done. They're losing at least two of the final four games

I could’ve sworn conference record and record against common opponents was flip flopped. If it’s not, we absolutely can’t have the same record as the eagles at this point. If it is, there’s a lot of football left to be played.

Also, don’t sleep on this dolphins v eagles game just yet. They just missed the two point try to tie it up, but we’re about to start the 4th at 28-26 philly.

34-28 Miami with 11 minutes to go in the 4th. They’re absolutely going to fuck this up, don’t get me wrong. But god damn that would be huge for our first round exit playoff performance.

Also, before this year, I was kinda hoping the cowboys would take a look at Parker from Miami on a 1 year deal to replace Cobb next year. No chance in hell thats going to happen anymore. The breakout has officially happened and it’s on full display against philly right now.
