Yeah, Ohio State is getting the Big Noon spots repeatedly because they draw decent ratings. The issue is Fox has only one exclusive Big 10 window. CBS has the 2nd window at 2:30 and NBC has a nighttime window unless Notre Dame is playing a night game and then NBC can switch to an earlier time. It's why the SEC being only one family of networks is much better for us.

Haven't followed the conversation much but the noon eastern time slot draws better ratings than any other after controlling for teams and network. At least it did the last time I ran the analysis.

It hasn't this season outside of Texas-Michigan and Ohio State Penn State. The SEC night game has led the way most weekends. I think Georgia Texas is the highest rated game of the year.

This. It’s completely plausible fOSU has watched their last night at the Shoe for the foreseeable future. They scheduled Marshall and still played at noon. They’ve watched their last away night game at Penn State and Wisconsin. And they’ll never get a night game at the Coliseum or the Rose Bowl.

Much like Florida State, I have zero pity for them. They have  good lawyers too just like the TV networks. They signed the contact anyway.

Klatt likely came out swinging because he has too, and he probably loves his set up. His work day is done every Saturday at 4 Eastern. He can sleep in his bed every Saturday. Meanwhile, Herbie is living out hotel suites for 3 months out of the year.

Disagree on the west coast games. You can't schedule 9am Rose Bowl or Coliseum kickoffs. Those will go to NBC or CBS with a tradeoff. Each network gets one pick at the start of the year. That will always be Fox taking Ohio State-Michigan.

Klatt also is getting tired of shitty Big Noon games. He does a weekly show on the Ticket in Dallas and he was scoffing at the Purdue-Ohio State matchup he had to call. Last year they laughed at how he had to call the worst Michigan games. He at least gets Colorado this week. Next year, he'll get to call Texas-Ohio State unless NBC or CBS steals it. I hope CBS does as I was sad we never got to do an SEC game on CBS.

Week to week ratings are here. SEC on ABC is winning most weeks.

It might have after controlling for teams, as he mentioned. The SEC night games have been drawing more, but I think that might be because they’ve generally been better matchups.

With Michigan’s fall, tOSU is really the only major draw in the Big Ten right now. Fox really misses UT and OU in the Big 12.
