Facebook tells a different story.  I’m not convinced the anger has created a shift from right to left, so much as further polarization.  Both sides (Hi, Anastasis!) are angry and motivated.  Maybe that benefits Dems slightly more in this election based on margin over typical turnout. But I’m not expecting a bloodbath.  Hope I’m wrong.

Youth are on Twitter and Instagram.

Also, a lot of people are keeping their political beliefs quiet on social media, because they don’t want shit from coworkers and bosses and spouses.

One assumption I think in Texas that might be off is that the youth vote will be so clearly Democratic.  I think back to the Plano twenty-somethings I remember knowing and they were a lot more party hack-y and wanted to follow their parents footsteps than the crazy socialist they are painted as now.  That was two decades ago though, so maybe its different with today's yoots.

Yeah, those youths you knew have had 20 years of being exposed to gay and minority celebrities , not to mention the gay and minority students they grew up around.

I can agree with this, but I honestly think this favors the quiet Trump supporters right now unless you live in a rural place. Shaggy had so many dipshits losing their minds about Obama and Hillary and the ratio between them and posters who can call out bullshit on Surly is much lower, but I don't think they've suddenly stopped or switched their voting habits.

btw they’re mad the polling places will stay open to get everyone who is line at 7 a chance to vote. No one new can get in line after 7.

GOP would prefer they close the doors and shut off the lights at 7, fuck people waiting

I know it’s in really poor tastes and it makes me look bad, but I really can’t wait until Sheldon Adelson dies and goes the fuck away. The guy is a disgrace. He’s been almost single handedly funding the GOP for the last 10 years or so. He’s donated at least 150-200 million to the GOP this cycle alone, much more than he usually does.

Another elder speaks.

I actually kinda liked the old man back then when he was still in office. He has not slackened.

Edit There's a pic of him out there recently. He's gone full on country gentlemen. It is way past too late to find it.

Dude,

John Warner is my number one all time politician. There's is no one in office now worthy of licking the soles of his shoes.

If it wasn’t for John Chafee, I’d like this post.  They were best friends, btw.

John Warner was a smart man.   He sided with democrats on many major issue but kept on the gop side of the fence.  Also didn’t hurt that he married into the Mellon family fortune first and later Hollywood royalty with Elizabeth Taylor.

Im not sure he’s endorsed too many republicans lately.  His Republican Party was gone with the tea party.

"It’s a very serious time for the country. I did not support Trump," he said, and "I’m deeply troubled by the central issues. So much of my life has been devoted to the intelligence work and national security — and I’m just not comfortable with the way he’s handling these national security issues," said Warner.

"He has no inner compass at all," Warner said of Trump. "He’s put a tremendous divide in this country."

I know it's a long shot but I hope to God she wins.  She's a fucking bad ass and her ads are awesome.

That’s my district and I’ve given her a lot of money (a lot for me anyway). You see a lot of her signs in the subdivisions, but get out into the edges of the burbs and into the ranch country and it’s all Carter signs. I think she’ll do well in WilCo. Turnout in Temple and Killeen will probably help Carter, though.

I went out front and snapped a pic of this just for anyone like @Bateshorn who thinks there is any chance Scott Taylor loses. There's 6 signs with 100 feet of my house, and the rest of the area is the same. I live in Upper Middle Class Utopia, Scott Taylor is these people fucking spirit animal.

Preview of me when Beto loses and the Dems barely get the House and the Republicans gain firmer control of the Senate and the media starts its "Republicans hold strong" narrative:

The sad thing is Ted Cruz isn’t even the worst candidate on the Texas ballot. Here’s whose worse:
Dan “ potty” Patrick - the entire Texas legislative session of 2017 was a joke. The second biggest state in the country spent most of our time and attention talking about......... bathrooms. Potty Patrick wants to spearhead a bathroom bill movement all over the country. Most people go into bathrooms just to pee and get out. This guy should be locked up in an insane asylum.
Ken “indictment” Paxton - he currently has 3 indictments, he’s still running for office, and he’s probably still ahead in the polls. He’s a big part of the lawsuit currently in the courts to kill Obamacare because the repubs were too incompetent to kill it legislatively. If the lawsuit succeeds, it would throw the healthcare system into total chaos and nobody would no longer have protection for the pre existing conditions that republicans have pretended to care about for the last month or so. The fact that millions of texans would vote for a guy currently facing charges is a total freaking joke.
George P Bush- Oh no..... please not another one. Dear god.  The bush family in power makes me think of several things. Unnecessary wars, terrible responses to hurricanes, record high gas prices, and the prices of everything else going up because of it.

The Texas GOP ticket reeks like asshole after Abbott, but they’re all still going to win most likely.

I read Ralston last week and he seems overly obsessed with Clark Co.  He seems to forget that this is a statewide race and the vote outside Clark was much stronger this year.  Statewide Democrats lead by approx 22k votes this year.  In 2016 it was 47k at the end of EV and Hillary won the state by 27k votes.  That's how close it is.
