Looks like a coordinated effort/response to the Owens de commit.

That's a really fancy way of putting "oh shit our RB decommitted we should offer some RBs."

Natural course of things. These RBs were evaluated and Owens decommitment allowed us to offer

IIRC, Tre Wisner was the only other instate '23 RB that held an offer prior to Owens's decommitment (and maybe even commitment for that matter). More important than this recent flurry of RB offers is Wisner's upcoming visit, IMHO.

Wells

Spoiler

WR Braylon James, Del Valle (Del Valle, TX) - 2023:

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound four-star receiver will visit UT on Friday. This was originally scheduled for last week, but James wanted to wait for a few family members to join him.

With 31 offers including Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, LSU, and Georgia, James is a talent that the Texas staff is watching closely.

When the offers started piling up this spring, there was one he really wanted. After UT verbally extended an offer, he was in heaven. Let's hope we see that same enthusiasm this weekend.

Spoiler

We'll start with El Campo 2023 five-star running back Rueben Owens II who is coming off of a decommitment from Texas last week. While a conversation between Texas and Owens has not been had yet since his decommitment, Owens still holds Texas in high regard. He will return for a game during the season and will keep a close eye on the production in the position group next season.

Alabama and LSU were two visits that stuck out to him this month and he is currently on campus at Texas A&M for an unofficial visit. The early returns are that the Aggies are also having a very positive visit.

Speaking of 2023 prospects, I was able to catch up with Dickinson cornerback Vernon Glover Jr. who was offered by Texas after a solid camp outing earlier this month. He holds a lot of early interest in Texas and is a legacy of the university. He has had really good early conversations with cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph and plans on getting out to a game in the fall. He has also been offered early on by Miami, Arizona State, Florida State and Arkansas.

To round out 2023 news, Temple athlete Mikal Harrison-Pilot will be finishing up his busy month of June with an unofficial visit to Texas on Sunday. Harrison-Pilot has caught the attention of many schools so far on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and as a safety. Texas' offer currently holds at the safety position, but those things are fluid throughout recruitments.

Advantage:  Aggy!

(Holstein vs. Manning thread, Aggy 247.)

"5 Star Talent" 🙄

Not according to the services that, you know, give out those stars.

(Not saying he's a bad player, haven't watched his film, just think it's amazing that any highly ranked player is a 5 Star Talent to them once they commit to aggy)
