“It’s real and it’s shit” could be Lansing’s city motto. But the MSU campus is quite beautiful. And Lansing is a better town than Ypsi, EMU’s town. So there’s that.

Alabama transfer Agiye Hall to visit Texas this weekend

Alabama transfer Agiye Hall to visit Texas this weekend

Mike Roach

Texas is hosting one of the most talented prospects in the NCAA Transfer Portal this weekend. Sources confirmed to Horns247 that Alabama transfer wide receiver Agiye Hall will arrive Friday for a visit that could push through the entire weekend.

Hall has familiarity with the Texas staff considering he was recruited to Alabama to play in Steve Sarkisian's offense and his lead recruiter was Jeff Banks. Hall left the Alabama program last week amid turmoil with the coaching staff. The Longhorns have been no strangers to utilizing the portal and have gone to several former Alabama players in the last two years.

Texas already addressed the wide receiver position in the portal this offseason with the addition of Wyoming wide receiver Isaiah Neyor and adding Hall could increase the potency of the Texas offense.

The Longhorns struggled at times last year in the passing game, especially following the loss of Jordan Whittington. True freshman Xavier Worthy had to carry the team from an offensive production standpoint, and defenses were able to direct focus on him and cause the Texas offense to sputter late in games. Hall is still somewhat unproven, but he's shown flashes in his college career that point to the immense talent he had as a high school recruit.

Hall signed with Alabama in the 2021 class after completing his senior season at Valrico (Fla.) Bloomingdale High School. Seeing limited time during his freshman year, Hall caught 4 passes for 72 yards.

As a recruit, Hall was ranked as a four-star prospect ranking as the No. 45 overall prospect in the nation, No. 5 wide receiver in the nation and No. 11 overall prospect in Florida, according to 247Sports Composite.

The 247Sports scouting report described his game in the following way:

Well-built with the frame to add more mass once he gets in a college strength program. A long, gifted athlete who tests very well in combine settings. Among the better athletes at receiver in the 2021 cycle. Broke out as a sophomore at a top high school program in the Tampa area. Saw a slight dip in production as a junior. Has the physical ability to run past corners and separate downfield with his long speed. Has the athletic ability to make acrobatic catches and pull away from defenders after the catch. Is raw technically as a receiver and will need to improve his releases and route-running in addition to being hesitant around contact at times. Can also improve his ball skills as he's not yet a natural catcher of the football at times. Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside of developing into an early to mid-round NFL Draft pick.

Anyone have any insight on why the consensus from the Bama fanbase is that this guy is way much more trouble than he’s worth?

Because the #5 receiver in the nation in a given class might be the #5 receiver on their roster.

I saw that…my concern is that Worthy doesn’t need any bad influences around him

Worthy has his head on straight.  He's a kid they match up with knuckleheads to get the knuckleheads on track.  Worthy would be more likely to influence Hall than the other way around.

He’s still a super young guy in the grand scheme but hopefully y’all are right

Normally I'd agree, but after he tweeted directly at Johntay essentially "Look to your left and there's 4 goddamn national championship trophies you fucking moron" I'm pretty sure he's all in.

In case y'all were waiting with bated breath... It's an unofficial visit to Michigan State.

Dude got himself an Edit for an unofficial visit.

I get it but the shield looks stupid.

Would’ve been better if they had him in an active front kick and shopped Wolverine mascot into a pit
