He's gonna make it long enough to vote against Trump and see Kamala inaugurated. Then he'll let himself go. (manifesting this)

He needs 16 days. I heard a Carter center spokesman say that Jimmy was voting absentee on the first day possible: Oct 15th.

Turns 100 on Tuesday. Obviously his health isn’t the best but quite the milestone to be the oldest ex-president ever.

And the only one to rock this t-shirt

Are you all trying to kill him?

Let me guess. You think someone mentioning that the pitcher has a no-hitter, in the 7th, impacts said no-hitter? 😀

Congratulations to Jimmy for making it to 100.  The only former US president to do so.

Except JFK is still alive and turned 100 in 2017, don't listen to the MSM.

So yeah when exactly can he first cast that absentee ballot? Like, what minute.

Absentee ballots in GA go out October 7

Imagine trump’s tweets if he votes for Kamala and then dies before 11/5.

It's actually a decent academic argument on whether the vote should count or not but it doesn't seem remotely realistic to administer. We use Election Day as a clear line for new 18 year olds to be eligible to vote, but you don't have to be alive on Election Day to have your vote counted.

I could be convinced that an early/absentee vote for a dead person should be disallowed.

Watch this scenario play out and Trump lose GA by 1 vote. Obviously Carter would not be the ONLY person in this situation but he's the one we're 99.9% clear on his ballot.

Happy belated birthday to Jimmy Carter, a great American and by all accounts a profoundly decent & honorable man.

I hope he lives long enough to see the inauguration of our next president. I hope that day brings him joy.

If you die, it should not be invalidated. What if you vote and a tornado happens and kills you? Not really your fault.  Do we draw the line at suicide, acts of god (weather) and old age? What about if you are murdered after you vote?

Before there was early voting, those events took voters off the board regularly.  Hence the academic argument.

I don’t know this, can 17 year olds that will turn 18 right before Election Day utilize early voting, or do you have to be 18 on the day you cast your vote?  State by state decision?

You cannot vote until you turn 18. Even early vote unless you turn 18 during the EV period. Some states let you vote in the primary at 17 if you will be 18 by general Election Day

My OPINION is the votes should count because they were cast in good faith by the voter when they were alive.

I'm playing contrarian here. If Person A was a Democrat precinct chair who has voted Democrat 100% of their life but Person A dies the day before Election Day, we do not allow their family to cast Person A's vote on Election Day even though everyone agrees that is how they would've voted.

Early and absentee voting is about convenience and the inability to vote on Election Day for a number of reasons. It should not be used to get around rules that are applied on Election Day.

As I said this is only an academic argument that has a very small impact and most likely has never decided a widespread or important election. I wouldn't want to waste the funds building a process around validating life while counting the votes.

It is extremely unlikely and downright impossible to ensure county death records are updated fast enough to confirm who died by Election Day.  Hell, when my mom's husband died in 2021, it took 2.5 months to get the death certificates.

You make a great argument for the elimination of early voting, my conservative friend.

I say be magnanimous and let that dead guy’s vote count.

But then you should give a vote to the lightning and clearly the lightning supports Harris.
