I was still in high school the last time the Yanks won it all. The overwhelming majority of Astros fans have only been fans since 2015. They’ve never not seen their team be successful. They have no idea what it’s like to be a suffering sports fan.

For this post, you should be forced to go read the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Houston Astros season threads on the scat site.

Fuckoff with this trolling. Pretty sure Pujol’s  dinger off Lidge is still floating in space, but if it ever lands, I hope it’s on your windshield.

Talk on the Yankee internets of how genius it would be to just let Cessa & Lyons be lambs tomorrow against Cole. Wednesday’s rainout would then set up Greinke vs Tanaka rematch in game 4, then Sevy vs Verlander in game 5 at home. If the Yankees take the latter 2, losing to Cole in game 6 won’t matter. Tanaka vs Greinke & a short-rested Verlander in game 7 is advantage Yankees.

Wish Boone & the front office were smart enough to actually do that.

the yankee internets, fine as they may be, have miscalculated.

verlander wouldn't be starting game 5 on friday and then game 7 on sunday.  cole x2 and verlander will have 3 total remaining starts in the next 5 games, all on full rest.

that said, i'm down if boone wants to sacrifice cessa/lyons for tomorrow, forcing the yankees to win both games 4/5 and ensuring the series goes back to houston.  i vote yes.

This has to be trolling.  Good lord.

There's one glaring problem with this: why would we move Cole up from Sunday to Saturday on short rest because it rained on Wednesday?

If we're up 2-1, we can still throw Urquidy in Game 4, Greinke in 5, JV in 6, and Cole in 7.  All it does is give Greinke one more day off.

Maybe we move JV up to 5 since it's pivotal and on the road, then Greinke in 6 and Cole in 7.  But there's really no way you should be able to avoid JV and Cole on full rest next weekend unless we're down 3-1, which isn't the scenario y'all are talking about.  And you're also talking about using Tanaka on two days of rest in Game 7, and please do.

There's just no way you're gonna stick us using crap or aces on short rest in a Game 7.  Sorry.

The Astros will use their best available pitchers when they can. If Greinke can go there isn’t a chance in hell Urbiquitous or whatever starts. Greinke would go on full rest vs Tanaka in game 4 in Yankee Stadium. That leaves a Sevy vs Verlander showdown in game 5. If it goes back to Houston, the Astros HAVE to use Cole in game 6. Either to clinch or stay alive. If it’s to stay alive, their options for game 7 are Verlander on 2 days rest, Greinke on 3 days rest, or Cole on no days rest. The Yankees can throw Paxton out there & hope for the best. The Astros would pretty much have to bullpen it. It’d be a tossup game, but Houston wouldn’t have their top weapons available.

You are wrong a lot.

This post just lapped the field on your  stupid posts.  Most of the Astros posters on here are fucking lifers.

You have some good takes from time to time, but Jimmy Wynn on a cracker, you suck total ass when you go all in on Yankee horseshit.

The Yankee horseshit is over the top down there. the shitass Yankee games are on the fucking radio down there. Yankee scumbags are all over the fucking place and most of em are sorry ass Mets fans and Jets fans.

2003 was the greatest.

Marlins beat the shitass dogfucking Mets scumbags to make wild card.

and then beat the shitass Giants and shitass Cubs to make the world series.

where they beat the babyfucking shiteating puppyrapist goat felching horsefellating diahrrea chugging stealers of Stoops bags of dicks shitass Yankees 4-2.

Trying to win it all again. Posada, slow roller, right side. Beckett picks it up, tags Posada, and the Florida Marlins are World Champions. The Marlins have stunned the Yankees. Shocked New York. And this improbable team, improbable ride. They end up on top.

Exactly.  I was at Game 1 in 1986 when Mike Scott out-dueled Dwight Gooden 1-0.

And a Yankee fan accusing Astros fans of being bandwagon jumpers might be the best example of irony in history.

Jesus why does it always come back to that. Down there it was either root for a team 8 hours away named after a group that probably lynched my great-great abuelos, or root for a team 5 hours away that was never on tv in a city I had little connection to.

Or root for a team that was always on tv, with a rich history, commitment to excellence, and Derek fucking Jeter as captain. Easy call for young Helobious.

Wednesday’s rainout will change everything in the Astros favor. If god exists he hates the Yankees for some reason. I think Voit & Urshela did some satanic shit to sell their souls & get so good out of nowhere. The price is being paid right now, only explanation.

Money can’t buy a rain out. GTFO with that cursed BS. Entitlement be thy name

So...  you became a Yankees fan somewhere around their glory years of four WS in five years.

And now you're not happy about a decade without winning and you're jealous of all the new Astros fans who haven't been through the lean years like a poor, cursed lifelong Yankee fan from 1500 miles away?

I’ve been following the Astros since 1968. So my bandwagon was a Conestoga. And yet, in all that time I’ve celebrated a single WS title. One more than I’d come to expect, though.

Yeah, I went to my first Colt 45s game 1963 as a 4 year old. Bob Lillis gave me a bat that he broke in batting practice.

My mentality was always that I just wanted one World Series before I died. And truly didn’t think it would ever happen.

This “ long suffering Yankees fan” shtick is beyond laughable.

Well now I’m seeing that the MLB wants to play games 4-7 on 4 consecutive days after the rainout Wednesday. That’s pretty fucked.

What did you think was going to happen?  They'll burn the travel day and play around noon on Friday, then fly to Houston.

I mean, did you think they'd move 6 and 7 back to Sun and Mon and fuck up the schedule of the entire World Series?

They better not play that early cause there is no point. They could play at 4pmE and still get to Houston at a reasonable hour, especially with 7pm game 6. Who knows what dildo Boone will do, but Stros will send game 6 starter home early.

We just need to chase Severino fast today and then have Cole be Cole. The rest should sort itself out.

i would assume their plan is to have him go 4. would be nice to chase him, but it’s not like they’re hoping for 6-7 out of him, even if he looks good, which i expect him to.

Boone said his leash is 75-90 pitches, however long that takes.

Stanton is not winning any hearts in NY. His injury was so bad that he homered AFTER getting hurt in game 1. I guess he doesn’t feel good enough to play though.

Very thoughtful of Boone to bat his hottest hitter 5th and put a free out in the 3 spot. Also, Maybin is 4-9 career against Cole, but the dude that hasn’t played in 2 months is left handed so he’s obviously the better choice.

He’s available to PH, & Boone said he would be IL’d if this were the regular season. But you only choose to post the Helobious narrative.

He won’t play, and I’d be surprised if he plays again this series. They’re idiots for not ILing him now & calling up Voit or another arm. Instead they’re choosing to go forward with 24 players vs the Astros 25. But keep flaming away at all my takes regardless of their validity.

Voit is 1-last 32, hasn’t played since September 28, & offers zero positional flexibility. If they were to remove Giancarlo, it would be for Wade to give them some late speed. So your take is wrong again.

Wade is 170 lbs soaking wet and has and will always hit like it. I’d still take Voit or Ford over him. The postseason pinch running specialist is a thing of the past with stolen bases becoming so rare. So actually your take is wrong.

They might pinch hit for EE, if Boone decides he might want someone up in that spot that actually has a chance of reaching base. Wade plays a bunch of positions but adding him in place of Giancarlo would still give them 5 OFs. Wade would also be a defensive downgrade from all of the infield starters. Therefore it makes no sense to add a guy that can’t hit & is a defensive redundancy at best.

And Wade wouldn’t have been a great option in top 11 when EE walked, then Gardner (the “free out”) singled?

No one to run for EE here.

You really should just post the link to whatever Yankee board you’re still allowed on, it would save you a lot of words here.
