He had 5 steals and was very active.  I was casually watching the game so I wasn’t paying that much attention to the defensive end, but Holiday had a poor game offensively, and Wright was probably responsible for a decent chunk of that.  Dame and CJ are coming to town on Sunday, so he will have ample opportunity to assert his defensive prowess.  The two guards I coveted most this offseason that might have been attainable were Beverly (resigned with Clips) and Holiday (who might’ve been available if NO didn’t win the lottery and decided to blow it up).  They would both be perfect fits next to Luka.  Finding guys who can guard the PG position at an elite level but can play off the ball on offense, and be content with that role, isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do, and that’s what we need alongside Luka.  Wright has that potential to be that, and he’s closer in age to Luka and KP than Beverly or Jrue.  I was very excited to see him play well tonight after a lackluster preseason and first game.  His development might be the most important aspect for this team long term.

I saw Wright had a great box score off the bench but people are raving about his defense. Was he really locking down that well?

He sealed the game with a strait steal late

He’s one of the best instagram dunkers ever.  Not sure that will ever translate to NBA success.  To do what he’s best at, he needs to be a ball-dominant guy, but he’s not good enough to be that guy on a good team.  If the Knicks won’t play him, who the fuck will?

Bad 3 pt shooting down the stretch.

That's an understatement.

I fucking love when it goes according to plan, but it got a little overly Luka-centric down the stretch.

We've got to get more shooting or play Seth more.  Luka is averaging 18 potential assists per game.

From 82games.com

Potential Assist: A pass that leads directly to a possession event (shot, foul, turnover).

With turnovers it requires even more discretion from the charters in trying to foresee whether the receiving player for the pass would have indeed immediately tried to score (shoot, drive, draw foul) or was really just going to get the pass and then pause and decide what to do next...

Plz play Seth more

We’ve significantly outplayed them in the second and are still down. Couple bad bounces and soft calls which are expected on the road, but we gotta right through. No weak 3rd again please.

Delon and Jalen are awesome together on the second unit. If THJ plays like he has to start this 4th quarter, just being a catch and shooter and not taking a bunch of jumpers off the dribble, he is a solid player.
