This meltdown reminds me of the fucking 2011 World Series for Texas.

I don't think it's anywhere near as painful unless your name is Gerrit Cole. The Astros won it all two years ago and the Rangers haven't sniffed a title since Cruz couldn't catch that ball hit by Freese.

That loss couldn’t have happened to a classier franchise. Shame.

Go fuck yourself, you bandwagon jumping bitch.  You're a Yankee fan from south Texas.

It isn’t in the same ballpark in terms of heartbreak. C’mon. Don’t make me relive this. 1 strike away, twice.

Lol, maybe. Just win 1 game at home with 2 CY young pitchers waiting.

Christ...Man that quote nails it for me too. Here's to pitchers and catchers reporting.

I was at opening day against the O's. Sat in a group of O's fans who came up from Baltimore to the Bronx. They knew their team was awful, but they came up anyhow. I can't believe the season is over. Can't wait to try and make it to more than the 37 games I attended this year. All you guys and gals here who love this sport, no matter your team, are pretty cool.

Biggest world series favorites to ever lose, ever

Houston was the original Choke City.  This year they Took It Back.  Biggest football choke ever, now biggest baseball series choke ever.  No pro sports playoff series had lost 6 in a row at home, this one had it happen every game.  The ultimate 7-series choke.  So poetic, so fate, so predictable for Houston.  We're back.

The city should be honest and change their symbol to Sisyphus.  But pushing floodwaters instead of a rock up a hill (the only hills in Houston are trash mounds.)

I will say, working that hard to get home field throughout just to lose all 4 of your home games in the World Series is a tough pill to swallow

wonder if Trump will tweet congrats to the Nats after their fans embarrassed him on national television.

the answer is no, Trump will not send a tweet.  somebody will type out a very boring congrats on behalf of Trump and send it from his account.

Congrats to the Nats!!!  Will they re-sign Stras or Rendon?  Or both?

Stras can’t opt-out until after next season.

Scratch that, this season or next.

I can't believe Dave fucking Martinez managed a team to a World Series championship.  That's like Kliff Kingsbury winning a Super Bowl.

Disagree. He’s no Ned Yost. He did a hell of a job this year and can manage this team forever.

Everything mentioned in the broadcast during the Series was that he had 3 days after the end of the series to opt out.

Trying to decide if Strasburg wife is hot or meh, leaning towards meh and that's with a lot of bourbon in my veins.

Happy for Scherzer, Strasburg, and Rendon.  They all deserve to have a ring.  Bonus points for not bringing Bryce Harper along for the ride.

Juan Soto can go fuck a goat.

Why the hate for Soto?

Pretty incredible series that’s not reflected in the final scores of the games.

How the Astros had 4 home games with cole, verlander, and grienke starting and managed to lose them all, I’ll never understand.

Meanwhile, urdiquey is all but untouchable in dc.
