I’m too lazy to search the internet myself, but why all the talk of the KU game being cancelled? I’d like nothing more than to end this shitty season and move on to the next coach, be it Urban Meyer or someone else, but are the COVID numbers on either the Texas team and/or Kansas team look like they’re trending up?

Someone pages back posted KU numbers they are an infestation of more than just mediocrity.

Well, f it, I haven’t posted around these parts in a while = seems like a good place to jump back in.....

It’s like John Wick. You dip so much as a pinky back into this pond, you may find something reaching out to pull you back in.

I've been thinking about that. Could it be that a lot of what we've heard so far is people testing for leaks? Guaging public perception maybe? Because I think Texas will not officially announce any plans for a new coach until they publicly decide they are done with Tom Herman.

Thats pretty much a given. And thats the way it should be.

salt and pepper on brisket is the way, but I've never been ballsy enough to do it on a pork shoulder

Give it a shot, tastes just as good. My trick is when you pull the pork, sprinkle s&p (2part pepper 1 Part salt) on the meat as well...delicious

Or where Saban has publicly said that Texas offered him or was interested in him for a job?

the fact is that people get offered jobs everyday and never say anything about getting an offer or turning one down.

There’s a difference between an active coach at a place like Bama not commenting on a job that was never technically open while they were making their decision and a guy who isn’t currently coaching making a statement about not returning to coaching. Like Thujone said - these situations aren’t identical at all. The similarities begin and end with the hiring school being Texas. That and the fact that we still suck.

It's definitely a really Texas taste, and the spice is powerful. I dig it. I'm not against more complex rubs at all. I'm just in a low effort mood today. What's your go-to for butts?

I mean I think the flight tracking and curtain matching and emotional swings from one hour to the next are as ridiculous as you and Sydney do, but it's harmless and they're having fun. I don't see why you and Sydney are bothered by it. Live and let live and all that. Maybe y'all should have a drink.

Yeah I don’t get the holier than thou, kids it’s past your bedtime attitude. Here’s an idea. Don’t click on the thread. If we only posted, verifiable or “official” sources, it would just be Pete Thames articles and Brian Davis tweets. Who wants that?

First off---that looks a phenomenal breakfast.  Second---I would watch a porno starring "Black Riuger" & "Taos Lightning", in a her titular breakout role "Dripping Springs"

Mustard, then 1 part salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika; 1 part brown sugar. Spray with ACV and brown sugar braise. Sometimes I add bourbon to the braise.

Host says ulcers in Columbus right coach?

host about to talk about covid and Michigan and general on the field stuff

urbs jumps out of his seat, what? What do you mean?

host raises the on the field issues and urbs says “oh” and they discuss.

Urbs clearly thought the host was going to talk about something else causing ulcers, and that something else made him jump.

theory is that something else was the Texas job. Urbs jumpiness points to secrecy which points to yes.

This was by far the most telling tidbit of the last 24 hours.

I watched the ulcers comment live. My takeaway was that it was a “wtf do you mean” response to a a vague, open ended question.

That’s how I read the elephant in the zoo moment that others thought was telling. The degree at which urbs jumped at the ulcer comment was odd if just he didn’t understand. I thought it more.

For me, there are three options here:

OPTION 1: Urban is an asshole psychopath. It would be the only explanation if he currently knows he's not going to take the job. I don't believe this is the case, because if it were, it would mean that he is purposefully stringing out The University of Texas, to what? Just be a dick? I have a lot of objections to Meyer's handling of Fuckface McGee and his domestic violence shit, but otherwise he seems to conduct himself professionally. So I think it would be Busch League for him to just play us out like that. He could have, and would have put this whole thing to bed on Fox yesterday. Instead, it was awkward turtle crickets.

OPTION 2: He still doesn't know if he's going to take the job. Okay, maybe. But he's known it's coming to him for three months now. In my mind he's a YES, but could possibly be balking because he wants "his team," i.e., his specific staff he's worked with before. I don't necessarily buy this. Coaches aren't always able to walk in with all the assistants they want. And I don't see Urbs as the type of guy who is afraid to take a job unless all the stars are perfectly aligned. But this could lead to a NO if I've misread him and he's a little baby.

OPTION 3: He's a yes and waiting on word of Herman's departure.

Option 1: 0%

Option 2: 30%

Option 3: 70%

The percentages one ascribes to options 2 and 3 are a direct correlation to how one perceives CDC as a legitimate and polished AD.  In the end we'll know the answer.  I'm giving CDC credit that he's legit. As I posted several nights ago, if CDC has a clue what he is doing, then all the public stuff that came to light this week is all AFTER THE FACT, post agreement in terms with Meyer and his agent.  I'm not going to rehash everything I wrote previously, but in the end if Meyer is announced then the good news is we not only have one of, if not the best coach in college football, but also a top level AD.  If Urban isn't our next coach, then our current coach and AD swim in the same toilet.

I’m not saying that Meyer has said no. I’m saying there’s a possibility that he has said no and he’s just moving on with his life without saying anything publicly.  People do it all the time

Yea someone came out of retirement and said this shit is fun because the guy at the 7-11 is an official source. It is a way to let off steam while we wait.

Correct.  It is not to saban or anyone’s benefit to say he turned us down.

but urban isn’t coaching at a competing school.   It would be very easy to say “I’m loving this announcing gig and want to do this for awhile”.

He could certainly say that to his employer.  It doesn’t give him much benefit to say it publicly.

A little acronym tip this morning for the olds. LOL in UT circles is light the orange light, meaning the tower is lit. So when Shelley types LOL, it needs to be interpreted in such a fashion. When someone asks whether she is real estate shopping in Austin and she replies LOL - well you get it. She is Texas bound.  You're welcome.

Well crap. Are they just waiting to finish the schedule with Kansas before firing Herman? Or is that now up in the air as well?

“Braise” or “glaze”?

Aren't you smoking it?

Mop sauce may be the most accurate term. It's sprayed on while smoking, but can be poured over and put in a pan in the smoker. The ingredients are boiled in a pot beforehand.
