what in the actual fuck did he just say

He said he agreed with MLB, but he was going to take further steps than MLB penalties. Fired Hinch and Luhnow.

Have to give credit to Crane. He's taking full responsibility and wants to move the organization forward.

I look forward to being able to afford to take the whole family to games again

2024-2026 gonna look like 2011-2013

City is slowly back to becoming the dumpster fire for sports it has been

1) The loss of draft picks is by far the most consequential part of this. That is an excessive penalty. Boston better get something comparable.

2) So no impact on international signing ability? Hopefully this can partially offset the loss of draft picks (I know they can sign these guys anyway, but fuzzy about the spending caps, etc...is it possible to devote more resources to this for next couple of seasons?).

3) What does suspending a GM even mean? He can't get paid or communicate with the FO? Lunhow going to use Cricket burner phones all season

4) Not too worried about Hinch being absent. It isn't good, but hardly catastrophic

5) How motherfucking great would it be to watch Manfred have to hand the trophy over to the Astros in October?

Ummmm, Astros still top 5 team by any metric.

Yep. Springer, Altuve, Correa, Bregman, Osuna, Pressly, Verlander, Greinke are all in the top 5ish for their position in baseball. Astros will still run away with their division, and be a hard out in the playoffs.

The fuck man! Firing Luhnow and Hinch. What a fucking overreaction. Luhnow is the architect of greatness. God damn it I hate sports. Fuck

It's not an overreaction. The 2 people that could have stopped the cheating did nothing.

My God our organizations is in tatters now. I fucking feel sick. I met Luhnow at alumni events and he was a great guy. Got to try on his championship ring and took pictures with the WS trophy with him. Fuck Crane for doing this. Best GM we ever had in any sport. Watch us get stuck with some Tim Purpura like clown instead.

Had to fire them. Crane would've been a dumbass not to.

On to the next one. While I hate to see Luhnow go, we are still a great team and 3putt could probably manage us to the AL west title.

Crane just went full Jerry Jones.

LOLz.  It took Jerry Jones 5 years to fire a coach who didn't do jack shit on the won-loss column.

Icono cares way more about winning.  This was necessary and real accountability.

Firing Hinch was the right call firing Luhnow was the wrong call. Hiring his son over Reid Ryan also the wrong call.

Hitting .333 as a player is great. As an owner not so much
