I'm not. It's every bit as dumb as you think it's gonna be.

But deadlier.

The McMartins just had to worry about crazies reporting them to the police, getting arrested, and going to jail.

Today, a crazy would show up at their preschool with an AR-15.

Oh goodie. I was too young to experience the first satanic panic. Interested to see how it goes in round 2!

It was also a huge waste of time and really messy.   Kidnapping somebody out of a TG&Y parking lot, or Service Merchandise if you were being picky, and sacrificing them in the middle of a Dungeons and Dragons game usually ended up with you having to burn your clothes and spend hours getting blood out of shag carpeting, not to mention the trip to the closest coal pit you could find.

Edit: it was a catchy phrase used by suburban parents to scare their kids, but it was way overblown.

Oh wow @Beau Vine the follow-up screens are beautiful.

And I asked my Qanon in-law if she was going to continue voting since in her eyes, 2018, 2020, and 2022 were all stolen, with no signs of the Soros Machine slowing down.  No response.

A QAnon "leader" outing himself as a groomer.  Would you look at that.

Believers in the pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory are always on the hunt for the powerful pedophiles they imagine run the world—like the cabal of pedophiles they say controls the Democratic Party, or the one operating out of the imagined basement of a Washington pizzeria.

But now, new court records reveal that QAnon leader Phil Godlewski has a criminal past of his own involving an inappropriate relationship with a minor that police records suggest turned sexual.

  Quote

Thanks to an ill-conceived defamation lawsuit against a local newspaper, Godlewski has put his conspiracy-theory career at risk by inadvertently prompting the release of more details regarding his case, including lurid text messages and a video of his erect penis.

Perhaps worse, according to his courtroom opponents, records suggest Godlewski has been caught both committing perjury himself and attempting to convince his own victim to do the same to ensure a “financial windfall” for them both.

Now, in a bombshell motion, the newspaper claims they’ve caught Godlewski breaking a bevy of courtroom rules and want him to pay $70,000 in legal fees and damages. As the case heats up and revelations spill out, it also offers a chance to see the kind of person who can profit from the persistent conspiracy theory.

QAnon has ruined families, inspired multiple gruesome murders, and helped power the Jan. 6 insurrection. But QAnon has also been a lucrative career for Godlewski, a Pennsylvania-based promoter of the conspiracy theory who speaks to his fans in lengthy, rambling livestream videos.

A furious Godlewski sued the paper, assuring his followers that the reporter had “taken the bait.” In livestream videos, Godlewski insisted there was nothing to the investigation, claiming B.D.’s mother was behind the criminal case because she wanted his money and calling his victim a “conniving” schemer who faked the messages.

I know that if I wanted money, the easiest way to get it would be blackmailing the local high school assistant baseball coach.

Every accusation is a confession, Exhibit number infinity.  Blah blah blah.  The cognitive dissonance and utter stupidity of the American right is so profound and intense that it defies description by mere words.

The key to the q catfishing was selling the fantasy of seeing your political rivals rounded up by the military and executed in public. That's the core of the appeal. Jesus.

So I asked my Qanon friend if she was going to buy the Trump superhero cards, and she responded "that has absolutely nothing to do with his critical announcement today" and I "am not able to access his speech today, because [I] have not downloaded or utilize alternative media sources of information."

Well, did she give you any details?

Also, Elmo set the Qanons atwitter by posting the white rabbit emoj: “He’s a loon, just like us!”

Andrew Callaghan continues to low-key be one of the best reporters out there. He's got a new documentary coming out on HBO about Jan6, and he's been trickling out some samples onto his YouTube channel

Just real sad. Those kids deserve better parents.
