I don't know anything about this kid's recruitment.  Says he's a 3-star from Utah.  But that mullet says 5-star from Florida.

He'll likely come back if Herman hires Scalley.

You’re viewing it through the Charlie / Sterlin Gilbert lens. View it after the ‘00 season when Mack changed DCs and OL coaches, and then again in ‘04 (Chizik) and then again in ‘08 (Muschamp).

I think there's some validity in this in that Herman is nearly 20 years younger than Strong and thus about 20 years less set in his ways.  The differences in intelligence are probably offset by the differences in humility.  So don't even go there for this purpose.

This also appears to be a pretty thorough staff overhaul, the likes of which we've never seen before.

A college team not wanting to be at a bowl game may in fact be a thing.

Did OU not want to be in the Cotton Bowl last year?

Somehow though, Rhule and Riley had people that could figure things out on D in far less time....for far less money.

This isn't a football powerhouse like OU or Baylor, this is Texas. We need to adjust expectations accordingly.

If losing Orlando comes with losing a 3-star commit, okay, cool, hook'em.

Exactly this. Forget that kid. Hopefully we can get a coach that can maximize the potential of the players we have and the ones he will recruit

That's not a very good mullet either, He won't get more than 3 or 4 wives with that thing.

How many successful coaches can you name who didn't have good players and assistant coaches?

Not a chizik fan.  Going from dusty old memory here, but his defense got worse the further it got from being coached by Tomey and Gerg.

I just want to see him come back in Thujone's paint threads.  If he has to be DC for that, so be it.
