Craps for beginners:

I stayed at Bellagio this past weekend (Friday-Monday).  There was usually one $50 table, but the rest were $100, $300, $500, $1,000, and usually a couple of Reserved tables.  I got to play with Offset (Migos rapper, formerly married to Cardi B) on Saturday night, and it was wild.  They let him do whatever he wanted, including actually hitting the ceiling with the dice on one throw.

At Tahoe a few weeks back, jawing with a friend we missed betting “make “em all” - stupid bet but we usually put $25 on it and we’ve gotten close a few times. Mother fucker rolled it and we missed.

during the roll I was pissed all that was needed was 3 to hit it, I plopped down $25 on 2/1 for the 3 and hit it that roll. I think that’s a 30:1 bet, it was amazing.

shocking I don’t bet simple or conservative at the craps table, I bet for the story. Usually it’s losing a few grand. Sometimes I have the story like this one though.

house won, I got the laugh though.

Bellagio, Aria, and Planet Hollywood last week.

Profitable weekend…didn’t win as much as prior trips but when that fourth horn in a row threw, as I parlayed each prior leg up after starting with $5, let’s just say I haven’t felt that alive in years.

11, 12, 3, 12. Good golly miss Molly.

Was in Vegas with 7 buddies a couple months back, only a couple of us had ever played craps before, so little to no strategy in the group. We were at Resorts World and caught the biggest heater I've ever been a part of, just pure luck that would not end. Walked out of the casino at 7 a.m. with well over $10k collectively. My friend and I were wearing Texas polos and two old ass drunk Michigan fans joined our table around 3 a.m. and were screaming Texas Fight. Won those guys so much money that they gave both of us a $500 chip on their way out. It was a fever dream.

My brother and I will be in Vegas for the F1 Grand Prix in the latter part of November staying at the V/P. Our rooms are comped and, for the first time, we have a host at these properties.  She gave us both room upgrades (I asked for them plus a bunch of other comps we didn’t get).  Should I give her a tip during our stay?

I tip my host at Cosmo, but they aren’t allowed to take them so you have to be discreet. I usually buy a card from gift store and put some cash in it and give it to her.

I’m a dark side bettor, but am considering a different strategy on this trip.  At a $25 min. table, make a $25 don’t pass bet laying no odds w/a pt of 6 or8, laying $75 w/a pt of 5 or 9, and max odds w/a 4 or 10.  Then, placing $30 each on the 6 and 8.  If the point is 6 or 8, take down the place bet on that number.  I want to have fun, maximize my time at the table/comps, and win if the dice are kind.  Thoughts?

Stayed at the Venetian last weekend. Down $400 the first night betting the dark side. The next day we (my baby brother and I) played at the Linq because they had $15  tables.  At every casino, the pit boss would acknowledge us as he returned our players card…but not at the Linq.  No greeting or small talk, no eye contact, nada.  And the dealers were all unpleasant.  The vibe at that place sucked and we stayed and played because it was the only place on the strip with $15 tables.  But, instead of the dark side, I bet the light side along with everyone else at the table.  Screw you.  We’re gonna take your money.  And we did.  My brother and I walked away each +$500.  I’d forgotten how much fun it was to have camaraderie with complete strangers while shooting craps and winning.  So, for the rest of the trip, I bet the right way…all at the Venetian…and finished +$2500.  I’d back up the point w/odds and place the six and eight. No more betting the dark side for this lad.
