Yep.  Casino Royals was my Vegas honey hole.   Such a piece of shit casino, but you could sit at the craps table with a $200 bankroll and play for 3 days straight if you can stay up that long.

Not to mention, that on top of free drinks while playing you can buy $1 Michelob regular all day everyday.   My go to when I’m walking up and down the strip

CR may be a shit hole but it leaves every other Vegas casino in the dust when it comes to cocktail service.  You never go dry there - in fact, you're likely to have one in your hand, have a full one tucked under the table and see a cocktail waitress asking about another.  That cycle repeats itself over and over.   Granted, the waitresses aren't anything to look at but when it comes to taking care of your beverage needs that place is unsurpassed.

Yep.  It's super easy to get extraordinarily over-served there.  I like it.

Leaving Vegas up 500 on craps. Method worked for me pretty well. Would've been more but got impatient with the nickel and dime stuff a few times.

Had a good run with roulette as well. Shaggy had a post years ago about playing the 1st 12 and doubling up every time you didnt hit. Worked well for me too all the times I played except once. Got up 350ish and then made some stupid bets and wiped myself out.

Inn of the Mountain Goats in Ruidoso...3x/4x/5x odds

go $500 into pocket throughout the day. Get down to $40 for session.  Stage a furious comeback and cash out with $530.

3 fucking free lemonades.  No booze on casino floor.  They have a badass taproom, but you can't play craps( or any other game) while you're drinking.  I love both activities and struggle mightily with the notion that New Mexico gaming laws are saving me from myself.

Oh well... played craps and enjoyed the come-back.

After my last couple of runs, Ive seen nothing but cold tables, so I've been toying with the dark side on the app.

For you that do that, do you place any other bets besides the don't pass line with odds?

I'm going to Shreveport next weekend and looking to change up my play method some. I know I'm not gonna get rich, but I'd like to lengthen my time at the table and possibly walk out with a little more cash then I go in with.

Occasionally I’ll play $100 don’t pass, with a nickel on 12 on the come out.  If it hits 4/10 as point I will play max odds and hedge with a quarter on the hard 4/10.

This guy seems to have a pretty good system for when you have the dice. The video is long and boring, but tl/dr is cover the opening roll with a $1 craps bet. After you make point cover the 4-10 for 3 throws. If you hit on one of those, increase your bet on the 4-10 until you make 3 rolls the pull your bets. Might give this a try vs the random shit I usually bet. It's a slow process, but a steady one.

I definitely prefer playing in Shreveport compared to Sucklahoma. No ante, 100x odds and more $5 tables. It was a little choppy this weekend. I usually only play with $200-$300 a session each time and primarily do HG method. I do like to roll, so I'll play the pass line when I'm rolling and adjust my odds depending on the point. We ventured over to Margaritiaville and it is the nicest casino in Shreveport-Bossier in my opinion. I had a table to myself for a little bit and doubled my money  for that session. I usually stay away from the middle of the table, but Maragaritaville had a hot roller bonus instead of the all tall small.  I played it some and saw it hit a few times during the night. Every few rollers seemed to hit 2-3 of the number combos which pays 5-1 for 2 combos and 10-1 for 3 combos. I saw it get to 5 combos, but I wasn't on it at the time it hit, but one guy at the table and $50 on it and took $2500 in winnings when it hit.

Tried a little different strategy the last few days on the phone app and think I will give it a try the next time I am in Shreveport.

Start with a $200 bankroll on a $5 table.  Throw $6 on 6 & 8 with $5 on the field.  When the field hits, move the winnings from that to either the 5 or the 9 depending on what the point is.  And then when a couple of numbers hit, move the winnings from that to the 4 & 10 and get every number covered.  And then alternate pressing and collecting on the inside numbers.

So, if the you roll the point and the game concludes, do you typically takedown your bets and wait for the new point?
If you have place bets running they are automatically turned off on the come out roll until a new point is established. You can ask the dealers to leave them on, but it's not typical to do so.

is this a general question, or based on one of the systems someone on here recommended?

Just a general question. I haven’t played in a long time and am in Vegas this weekend. Figured I’d just throw it out there. I’ll figure it out at the table soon enough.

Just a general question.

typically, as a general rule, no.  the object for any craps roller is to find a hot roll, which hits a bunch of numbers and also several points.  so any of your non-pass-line bets (come, place) you try to leave out there and collect/press so that you make your money work for you.  hitting a point is a good time to catch your breath and reassess, and your place bets are off on the come out roll.

your come bets are working on the come out, but only the bets, not the odds.  if a 7 comes out while trying to establish a new point, they'll return your odds and take your bet.  back when i used to be a come bettor, this was a bummer, because you work so hard to get those out there, and they all come crashing down at a time where most of the table is clapping.

as far as rules, you are able to take your place bets down after a point is hit (or any time, really), but your come bets are stuck out there (you can take down or adjust your odds only), just as your pass line bet is stuck out there during a roll, but you can always take down or adjust your pass line odds.

hope this helped.

I don't know if I've ever seen anyone take their place bets down after a point hits, although as HG points out, it is allowed.

More often, the dealer almost always calls out "place bets off unless you call working" or something similar, and some drunken dude who looks a lot like me will yell out "working" in which case your place bet is live on the come out.

I don't know if you can call "working" on your come bet odds.  Never seen it, and never been both drunk enough to call it and lucid enough to think of calling it.

Yesterday at work I was playing at https://wizardofodds.com/play/craps/v2/

Don't know how well it works on a phone.

After three or four sessions playing various methods, not making the sucker bets (pass line with max odds, cum bets with max odds, 6 and 8 only) I'm up about 2K. Seems to swing wildly back and forth.

This site also has good explanations of the odds, all the different bets, etc for the noobs. Goes much faster than it would at a real craps table.

Most algos use "psuedo random number generation" which uses some sort of mathematical formula to find random numbers, which isn't truly "random". Like each dice roll is another digit in pi. But they should work fine for something like simulating dice rolls.

Much more difficult to generate true randomness. The algo would have to use some sort of external data source to generate the random number. Like the ambient air temp meausured to the 100th digit or something.

Heading to Boston next week and planning on making it to the Encore for some craps. I went a few times last year and the place is nice but being the only game in town it's hard to find anything less than a $25 table. Might try a few different strategies see what happens. (More than likely just get really drunk and throw a bunch of money away)

Sometimes cashing in one huge rolls as a new player can be a curse. I know I just assumed those were pretty common after it happened at one of my first tables. Eventually I learned that you can go years without seeing a 50-60 minute roll, if you're like me an only play in Vegas one or two trips per year.

Made it up to Denver metro and played last night at Blackhawk.  So they  squirt the sanitizer on your hands when you walk up, each dealer has a bottle. Before you shoot first roll only, squirt again. Between shooters, they wipe down the dice with sani-wipes.  When a player leaves, they wipe down the rail and area where player was.  Not sure about the effectiveness, but it damn sure was fun to play craps again.
Got down $720 last night.  Nickled and dimed them to death and had a good roll this morning. I only had the 12 to go on the all-tall-small bonus.  Leaving the joint up $210 for the trip. Oh yeah, 3 players max at each end of table. $10 tables whole time.

You wrong-way playing son of a bitch ... sarcasm aside, I hard-core miss vegas. Not going back until this thing is more stable, but I'm stoked to read some stories of people rolling again.

I like having a don't player at the table. Gives me somebody to talk shit to.

We have something in common.   There’s only one number I don’t want.  I generally STFU, but will root for people to go on a parade of numbers or complete their bonus bet(rare, but it happens.) There’s those rolls when the point is 6 or 8 and all the shooter hits is a billion 4 ‘s and 10’s.   That is fun.

I played at Choctaw a few times last month. Had a night where I kept rolling hardways (I don't bet on them, but a lot of people where) One guy was putting A hundred on the pass then 1k on odds and I kept hitting my point. Several times during my roll, he tossed me a black chip. I slowly build up my inside bets as I'm rolling. Ended up htting THE ATS too with a $5 bet on each on. Walked away up over $1500. Nights like that don't happen often, but that's what keeps me going.

so a buddy of mine is in atl filming a tv show.  part of the show takes place in a casino in missouri.  there's a craps scene, and he's in it, and it's a total mess.

basically has the one of the main characters throwing a 3 and "crapping out" and everyone moaning, and the roll is over.  he pointed it out and called me.

we fixed it over the phone.
