Operation Legend?

That's what this DHS hubbub in Portland (and coming soon to a city near you!) is called?

In 2020, there's an ongoing "operation" against US citizens.  Rand Paul might be the only GOP furrowed brow I'm aware of.

Lol if you think Rand Paul's brow is furrowed.

Of course he did.  And if Bill did too, then both of them need to be buried under the jail with her.

Another good one was Nine Inch Nails with Marilyn Manson opening (and Jim Rose Circus).

Frank Erwin Center in 1994? I was at that concert but was kicked out for disorderly conduct by the time Nine Inch Nails came out.

$2.2mm, that's it?  That doesn't seem like enough to warrant the FEC red flags?  I know they don't care about flaunting the law at this point, but aren't they worried about pissed off donors?  His donors will eat a lot of shit from him, but knowing their hard-earned money that was meant to defeat Socialist/Suburban-Killer Diamond Joe Biden is going to prop up some bullshit hotel somewhere that's probably all levered up already with foreign paper.....I don't think that's gonna sit well.  That's a big gamble to take for just $2.2mm

John Brennan told us, with a straight face, that it was very rare (maybe once a week) for any President to receive his Intelligence Briefing/PDB...AFTER...8:00a-ET.  Trump gets it, on average 2-3x/week, and usually after lunch.

Fucking Boss Leadership, folks.  Get some!

David Priess authored a book titled "The President's Book of Secrets" in 2016 (so pre-Trump), and Brennan is correct.  Most Presidents receive their briefing report/meeting first thing in the morning. The intelligence community (CIA leading the way) usually works all night so that the President has the most current information in the morning.

If, as President, you only receive the briefing once or twice a week in mid-afternoon, tons of information is either not imparted to you, or is stale.  But I suppose if you consider Fox News to be your daily intelligence briefing, you probably don't see a need to have the intelligence experts give you their updates.

I am a morning person; this is how I would want the info--first thing, top of the agenda and then let's roll. Any serious stuff (save emergencies) I like cleared up before noon and do the ceremonial stuff later in the day. Press briefing at 5? I would need more than Blondie With A Binder to keep me from blurting out the first thing that comes to mind when asked a question. By the end of the day it's autopilot time and my self-censor starts misfiring. Prior to 45, I've admired the office in terms of the plates one needs to keep spinning in order to function even with the help of a competent industrious staff. But Trump has changed that admiration into a lip-curling sneer. Sad.

The big donors to the GOP are the rich and the foreign. The Saudis are big renters. Here's just one despicable story where they rent rooms for lobbying Americans. I'm sure they're all funneling money through different organizations such as the NRA. I won't believe that the NRA is the only swillway for bribes.

His small donors don't read the news and don't believe news stories when they're forced to opine on them. There will be no backlash from those willfully ignorant haters.

Maybe he outsourced/delegated those briefings to Putin.

I wasn't talking about the uber wealthy foreign donors or his huge pool that gave $100 to get a hat.  Or in the case of my cousin, the $250 she couldn't afford to get the commemorative coin set.  I'm talking about the upper middle-class that maxed out at $5,600 because they really believe in Trump's vision for the country or just do straight ticket GOP and loyally donate...they read the news and they're gonna be pissed.  There's thousands of those folks around the state.

wasn't there a ton of money paid to trump properties/large donors for the inauguration? I seem to remember invanka getting called out for overcharging for ball rooms and such.

Yeah, it's code for "I'll pardon you if I'm still in office when you are sentenced".  The charges are Federal in nature.  Well, she appeared in Federal court.  I don't know if state charges are possible -- it might not be a bad strategy to go that way so a pardon isn't a complete safety net.

@Lobo is on target with the disposable income donors I think. Your big money donors have the express lane and don't get the emails, letters, and text bombs. Plus, they can just launder stuff through the condos, the ocean foundations (that's a Maxwell thing), and other properties and locations worldwide.

This.

He is completely transparent.

He compliments people that can hurt him.

He is transactual.

Now he may just weasel out of it eventually, but he wants her to know that it's a possibility.

Dangle the carrot.

I thought I addressed the smaller donors at the end of my post. I did not take into account the middle donors that Lobo describes in his second post, true. I actually have trouble imagining anybody doing that, but I don't doubt Lobo's description. I also would have had trouble imagining that Gerald Ford wouldn't be the least bright of presidents in my life time. Every GOP except HW Bush has easily slid under that bar. Ford does seem like Lincoln now by comparison.

Oh, it's very troubling that so many of them exist.  But I literally have a list of about 200 of them...mainly mass-affluent to 1%ers Central Texans who have maxed out to Trump for this cycle.  The other disturbing thing about these people is they have freely chosen to associate with me as friends or business colleagues.

I just caught that yesterday in his "I'm pretending to play president and take this seriously now" PC, he actually said "we're going to be developing a strategy on how to deal with the virus". No, he didn't say that in February. He said that on July 21st. 2020. Going to be developing a strategy.

Have at it Lincoln Project. Right there on a tee.

The exact quote was "We are in the process of developing a strategy that's going to be very, very powerful".

Because he has the vocab of an 8 yr old.  We only look at things "strongly," and they will be "very, very, powerful" "like no one has ever seen."  It's fucking infantile.  But.....that speaks to a huge chunk of our country.  Because collectively, we have the average intellect and vocab of a fucking elementary school student (and not even an A student - C+ or so).

Sean RomaVicta,

I have to tell you something.

I asked my team to pull the files of my best supporters - the ones who have been there for me from the beginning and haven’t stopped since - and YOUR file came up empty.

SUPPORTER: Sean RomaVicta
STATE: Texas
DONOR SINCE: Not Available

Trump reminds me of a curb your enthusiasm episode where Larry goes to sell Toyota cars.  Someone asks him with a GTS on the Celica stands for?  Caught completely off guard Larry replies that it stands for guaranteed tremendous safety.  The customer then asks what about the GT model?    And Larry replies just, Guaranteed tremendous.
Plus Larry is not actively trying to kill a Portion of  the United States

Are you not a little teeny bit surprised that they didn't mention that if you were to stay at a Trump Branded Property, you might be able to view your plaque in person? Book now for a one week stay at Trump Turnberry Scotland and your illustrious plague er plaque will be prominently displayed in your room!

I saw that crawl on CNN earlier this morning and almost spewed Bloody Mary coffee across the room.

what should be made of this? I don't really know the back story or why they would be ordered to shutter. interesting that there was smoke reportedly billowing out from the building:

I can't tell if it is saber rattling by Pompeo (who doesn't strike me as a 'works well with people' type) and Trump, Bannon, Gorka or if there was some real intel that suggested this was a necessary move.
