Can you even imagine the shit we're gonna hear in the years after he leaves office? Like, "... in Conway's new book out in 2029, she details the time Trump asked about the possibility of dropping nuclear bombs on all of the blue states". Shit like that is going to happen.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if it came out that Trump had an incredible ("a beautiful")  plan, based off a suggestion from Stephen Miller,  that involved railcars and internment camps and the military could round up protesters and riffraff and ship them away to get them off TV,  protect statutes and clean up the cities.

Maybe the plan is to let COVID run wild in Tx and FL to postpone the election ?

abbott and desantis have both shown it’s MAGA over the good of the state for them

Per the Supreme Court case during hanging chad times, the election has to be decided in December. Removing Florida and Texas makes him winning impossible.

The only plan that has ever existed is how can we get trump elected. The rest is just a big fuck you to America. Since the reelection plan is obviously not gonna work they’re defaulting to the “fuck You America “plan.”

Trump - “Fuck You America!”

Trumpkins -“speak it trump!”

this is a little off-topic, but it got me thinking today, as i heard several clips on cnn (on sirius) about testing, and how we test so much, and how we shouldn't test, because of blah blah, and 99% and all the rest of the daily nonsense bullshit.  obviously he doesn't want to test because he doesn't want higher numbers.  we fucking get it.

but here's the thing.  i have no idea how many americans have covid.  there's no ranking with other countries of cases that anyone gives a shit about like some medal count in the olympics.  i think i heard we crossed over 3mm and i'm sure i could look it up on worldo, but there's no point.

i care about the deaths.  i know we're over 135,000 deaths.  test, don't test, if people die from covid, that number grows.  you can't manipulate or lie around that number.  it don't spin. 500-800 per day for the next 3+ months and we're well over 200,000 dead americans by nov 1st.  that's just the math.

mortality rate is his new thing, but testing more (finding more cases) would actually be a good thing for the mortality rate to go down, so why isn't he pushing more testing?  positive test rate would also likely go down if he insisted everyone get tested (even the healthy asymptomatic folks), so why isn't he pushing more testing?  yeah yeah, it's about the economy, and schools, and getting people back to work, and the stock market.  but there isn't some magic number of positive cases that allows or prohibits this from happening.  sick and dying people are what prohibits this from happening.

it just doesn't make sense because of course it doesn't.  plans make sense.  even bad plans make some sense.  no plans = no sense.

Exactly. The absolute number of America deaths is the most important number, and the number of US deaths divided by the US population is the only rate that matters in comparison to other countries. Surprise! We are terrible on both.

Lincoln Project or others should create spots that just highlight the cities with the same population as the number of dead. Waco, TX; Denton, TX; Torrance, CA; Metairie, LA; Savannah, GA; Rockford, IL: all gone. By November you're getting cities like Tallahassee, Eugene, Fort Lauderdale, Tempe, Shreveport, Mobile, Knoxville...holy shit.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/14/donald-trump-coronavirus-farmer-bailouts-359932

  Quote

Government payments to farmers have surged to historic levels under President Donald Trump as the Agriculture Department floods the industry with cash to stem the financial losses from Trump’s tariff fights and the coronavirus pandemic.

But as agriculture grows more reliant on unprecedented taxpayer support, farm policy experts and watchdog groups warn the subsidies are growing too big and too fast, with no strings attached and little oversight from Congress — and that Washington could have a difficult time shutting off the spigot.

Expand

  Quote

Direct farm aid has climbed each year of Trump’s presidency, from $11.5 billion in 2017 to more than $32 billion this year — an all-time high, with potentially far more funding still to come in 2020, amounting to about two-thirds of the cost of the entire Department of Housing and Urban Development and more than the Agriculture Department’s $24 billion discretionary budget, according to a POLITICO analysis. But lawmakers have taken a largely hands-off approach, letting the department decide who gets the money and how much.

Expand

  Quote

The massive payments have been a political boon to Trump in farm country — he tweeted in January that he hoped the money would be “the thing they will most remember” — but risk creating a culture of dependency, as farmers and ranchers work the bonus subsidies into their financial plans when making large, up-front investments in seed, feed and farm machinery.

“It’s a big problem for agriculture because it’s not sustainable,” said Anne Schechinger, senior economics analyst at the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit watchdog organization. “It’s really difficult once you’re giving farmers this much money to then take away those [payments].”

There’s a plan, it just appears nonsensical if you look at it from the perspective of a moral and ethical human being concerned with the well being of Americans.

Instead, think about things from the perspective of an enemy.  How could you eliminate the US as a world leader and protector of Western democracy while not being annihilated in the process?  If you take that problem and look at the totality of what has happened over the last 5 years,  then it very much looks like there is a plan at work.  A masterful plan that may prove to be the greatest geopolitical gambit in history.

1. We don’t really know how many people are dying from Covid. If Grandma is diagnosed with Covid, and dies two weeks later, she is counted. If she’s not diagnosed, she may not be. Eventually we will have an estimate of how many died. When Trump attacks Obama for 13k dead from H1N1, he is referring to an estimate developed by CDC scientists, not the much lower confirmed deaths. There are a lot more than 140k Americans who have died from this disease so far.

2. Trump is stupid/crazy enough to believe this is all just media hype. Confirmed cases are feeding those stories he believes are fake news. The only plan he needs is to counter the stories. The virus will just miraculously disappear one day.

At some point, if this country survives, we're either going to have to eliminate deductions and loopholes or increase the tax rate substantially.

I, like many, probably including yourself before moving, am cornholed by the elimination of the property/state tax deduction.

It pisses me off, but it needed to happen.

This.  While the bottom line is deaths, without massive testing, you have no idea how many people really died from it.  Which I guess is the dotard's ultimate goal.

If you eliminate the deductions, then get rid of the fucking progressive taxes.  Also, get the rates lower.  I would be ok with a flat tax of 10 or 15% provided the first 40-50k for each individual was tax free (that is honestly what it costs to live) on a pure income tax.  You get no other deductions.  You eliminate all sorts of costs with enforcement.

Assume we missed 25% of the deaths caused by Coronavirus.  So that puts the net total at what?---175k, 200k?  SOmething like that?

Is that really his strategy?  It won't sit with Americans to lose 185,000 fellow citizens due to our inept handling of it, but we can live with 140,000 dead and promises of "tremendous testing?"  What the fuck?

When your China travel restriction was the last proactive step you took, and that was 5+ months ago, I guess you gotta cling at something.

Somebody on another thread found out at the coronavirus.gov site, the main website for government data and resources and guidelines...was registered and launched on 8 January.  Just 9 days after China revealed the Covid-19 virus strain.  Curious that his administration deployed that resource over a hoax that was already about to disappear.  Somebody sure as shit knew something was about to go horribly wrong in this country with this virus, and had that kind of foresight.  But like the Russian Bounty Hunters, it did not rise to the level of the President taking note of it on his PDB.  But what does rise to the level of the President's daily briefing interest are the words of the great Chuck Woolery.
