That's the worst fake punt attempt I have ever seen. When you need 10 yards, how the fuck ya gonna call a play where your ball carrier doesn't even start heading up field for 3-4 seconds?

Looked like it was designed to be a pass but punter was covered. Punter wasn’t trying to block at all he ran upfield and looked back for ball. Ballcarrier made no indication he was going to pass though, he may have been trying to sell run until the last moment or just decided to try and run for it all the way. Or maybe it was a run play and punter skipped blocking duty, or was simply meant to be a decoy to draw a defender.
It was a very stupid playcall regardless.

I don't know. Usually when this happens, the guy with the ball makes some sort of inclination he is looking to pass and the play looks very awkward. The guy who got the reverse never looked like even wanted to pass the ball. This punter is very new and not sure they trust this guy to run out and catch the ball. Either way, it was fucking stupid all the way around.

Not to mention earlier in the game on 4th and inches, we throw some 10 yard pass. If Zeke can't get you inches, why the fuck is he even here?

According to Sturm, the play was maybe designed to pass to 29. Sell the reverse long enough and no one runs with him down field and chunk it for an easy score. The guy with the ball was a college QB so he could do it. If that is the case, I can see that. But man, calling this down 4 well inside your own territory on 4th and 10 is so fucking wreckless and dumb

Not even a Cowboys fan, just came to this thread to basically say this. Next day and I’m still in awe of how dumb that was.

Returner isn’t accounted for in this.

Probably because he's standing back at the 25 or deeper.  The ball needed to be thrown (if that was the intent) the moment 29 hits the 33-35 yard line

Correct.   But in looking at the play again (and I’d have to see a watch of it on the All 22) WFT looks to be lined up in more of a prevent rather than full punt return.  They knew it was coming.

Yeah I imagine he ran up once he saw what was happening. But still that’s a huge window for 11 to complete a pass. No idea why he chose to run it into the middle of the defense instead.

One of the other weird things about the play design is that Cedric Wilson is left-handed, so he’d have to sell the run and throw the ball across his body to make it work.

Come on, I saw that exact same play work earlier this year.  It was in a 3A high school game, but still...

Goddamnit, I read that whole article. Now I’m waiting for Gandalf and some dwarfs to take me on a journey to the misty mountains. I can’t tell if any of that shit was believable. McCarthy is why Favre went to the nfc championship game with the Vikings? Rodgers got tired of him because they won so much? I’m going to hope that all the dumb shit we are seeing right now is tanking for a high pick. Dak being out and the slew of injuries that followed maybe make this year a wash.

I feel left handed or not, all he had to do was just stop, set his feet a little and throw the ball. I have no idea why he did not even look up at all to throw. Did he not know the play? Not see the guy running free?Either way, it was a clusterfuck of a play. But you have to lay some blame on the execution if a guy is running that free. The design worked to get him free.

Or maybe it was a run all the way...which is fucking insane.

So it’s the same play he threw a TD to Dak against Seattle but out of the punt formation.  Looks like he panicked and didn’t pull up to throw.   Of course, the throw he made to Dak was easier than this throw would have been, but that guy is open by 14 yards in either direction.

Well if that's the case, then that is the dumbest call ever. Especially seeing we needed 10 yards and this guy is already 10 yards behind the line to begin with. But if it was a run all the way, I would imagine the line would be moving down field to block. They held up like it was a pass so they didn't get an illegal man down field call. This is one of those plays where you are heralded some riverboat gambling genius if it works but if it doesn't, you are ridiculed big time.

A few of you seem to be ok with the Mike McCarthy hiring. You are wrong.
Might as well put a 100 pound fat suit on Garrett and ran him out there, because that's what were getting.
A coach that doesn't use the tools that he has, makes horrible in game decisions, and doesn't know the rules of the NFL.
Mike McCarthy is a fat fucking retard.
There's another board that I frequent that is centered around gambling and is also full of pretty smart people. Lots of people on the board gamble for a living. Some on sports, some on poker, some on other things. To differentiate Mike from the other coaches named Mike in the NFL they called him "Fat Mike". There is a thread on the forum that discusses stupid decisions from coaches. The thread title is occasionally changed to whichever coach has done something stupid lately, but Fat Mike has been in the title for most of the last few years. Lets look back at some of the highlights.
In 2013 the nfl rule was if you throw the challenge flag on a play that is automatically reviewed such as a turnover or penalty then the play won't be reviewed and it's a 15 yard penalty. Less than two weeks after Jim Schwartz does this Fat Mike throws his challenge flag on a James Jones catch that got called a fumble. Our good friend Jordy Nelson picks up the flag and hands it back to Fat Mike before the refs see it

Managed to lose to Seattle in the playoffs through multiple stupid choices

How does Aaron Rodgers feel about the play calling in that game?

Doesn't understand Causation and Correlation
When asked why he kept running the ball with no success even though he had Aaron Rodgers:
"one statistic I had... 20 (rushing) attempts... 20 attempts is what I felt would be an important statistic for us in the 2nd HALF"
So the dumb fat fuck thought since his running back got 20 carries in a lot of wins, if he got him 20 carries it leads to wins, not that he usually gets 20 carries in wins due to running a lot when up.
What do packer fans think?

Fuck Jerry Jones, this hire pretty much guarantees a few more years of no playoff success

Fuck….
