On the bright side, at least we finally have an explanation for why Gideon went up for that useless interception in the first place.

Hurt us in field position for a free $1K.

we learned our lesson expecting him to do his job in Lubbock without being paid the prior year, I guess

Due to some budget tightening in 2010, they altered this pay structure to $1000 for each win after the 8th win.

Luckily, they have only needed to do so three times.

Who cares? Everyone that follows college football knows that Auburn paid Cam Newton's dad $250k for him to transfer there and nothing happened. Do y'all think Texas is going to get punished for this? Nothing will come of this, just like nothing came of Chris Simms saying that he got $100 handshakes. No one cares other than the media.

Of course nothing will happen.

The only negative is you lose the ability to act holier than thou towards other schools - see National Championship thread

Who said anything about getting punished? It's called what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room and you don't say stuff that would even get the ncaa to sniff around. Did you even play sports to know that? You don't talk about team stuff unless you're a bitch like Acho.

He got his hand slapped by someone.  Those tweets are a long way from:

"We went to the national championship game in 2009 and ... it was public to the team, for every interception the defensive back got, they were going to get $1,000," Acho said of Texas' 37-21 loss to the Crimson Tide on Jan. 7, 2010. "For every pick y'all got against Alabama in the national championship game, you're going to get $1,000. Now, the difference is we just didn't do it publicly on the field.

Maybe you should have left it in the fucking locker room acho. I bet his team hated him.

Manny Acho is by far the biggest ass clown bitch that has ever donned the burnt orange, I will double down and say worse than Chance Mock. He has made a career bitching about our team, trying to get us in trouble for violations, and being a skip bayless wannabe. Fuck off Manny. Stay up in Bristol forever where your brand of bitchassery is appreciated.

How so? Let's just take the premise as absolute fact and use a bit of logic from there...

- In late 2009, Cam Newton was paid as much as $250K

- A few weeks later in early 2010, Texas alumni told players that they would receive $1k for every interception, presumably as an incentive

- If $1k for an interception in the BCS Championship game was considered worthy of a conversation in the locker room, doesn't that kind of imply they were not already receiving any meaningful amount of money? In other words, if they were already getting paid, the "floor" for an incentive would be a hell of a lot higher.
