Actually, it was clearly on the line. Don't know if that qualifies as "in" the arc, but it's very rare to see such a call reversed. Keep collecting those undeserved wins simply cuz of the name on the jersey, bruh.

Not trying to be a dick but on the line is considered in. Also, if it was hovering off that ground that is definitely a block as position is not established.

We scored 3 points after we tied it with just under 5 to play. Shaka can’t be gone fast enough.

Play decent for a half with Kansas begging UT to win and then Shakablah ball rears its head. I’ve seen better come from behind offense in Gregory gym intramurals.

The hero ball desperation 3s for the last three minutes of play has to go. So does Shaka. Lots of wasted athleticism on this team.

Shaka is flat awful and shoudl have been fired 2 years ago but this team full of chokers.  Love the AJ story and there are more important things than basketball but he's not very good.  Sims and coleman are only big 12 worthy players on the team.  everyone else should be at a crappy mid major.

another coach might have this guys in 3rd or 4th place in the Big 12 but this is shitty recruiting also.

the heel was off the ground.  toe was on the ground.  I don't really care because this means closer to shaka being gone.  It was a bad call to change it but didn't lose the game. they can only rule if the foot was on the line when contact was made.  not moving.

Better coaches would get more out of Liddell and Ramey. Shaka has pissed away more lottery talent than any coach I can remember.

I do not think there’s any good way to tell. That is how bad Shaka is at developing players at the college level. There are a few that get out of the system and have some great natural ability that translates to the NBA with development when they get there.

It is painfully obvious that the players now have very incomplete games. There are glaring weaknesses and most of that could be coached up. This is a very undisciplined team. The only Havoc ball that we see is on the offensive end.

The irritation is not with the call- it was the reversal of a bang-bang play that could’ve gone either way. Initially went Texas’ way and then in usual Big12 fashion- refs intervene and give it to KU instead. Same shit every year.

What dcar00 said.

KU probably wins, anyway, but it is disheartening as a Texas fan--and a fan of the sport in general--to once again see a 50/50 call at a pivotal moment not only go KU's way, but get reversed in KU's favor to the tune of 3 points (potentially 6 points because it also denied Texas a possession).

Texas certainly doesn't need any help losing--we do that quite well on our own--so it's frustrating that officials feel the need to get involved and influence margins.

It’s a reviewable call per the rules. Your beef should be with the ncaa and not the refs.

yes but of course they failed to look at where his foot was actually when the contact took place. my guess is not one of them even thought about it because college refs are pretty much morons. if these guys are going to review and get technical  and overturn they need to actually LOOK at the replay.

The difference in ball movement, getting good shots and rebounding is glaring when you compare us to well coached teams. The Wichita State-UH game on right now is a good example. Both teams are so much better coached. Love how hard UH hits the glass

if he wasn't such a slime bucket I'd take Sampson right now(better about 5 years ago).  the dude can coach.

Normally I'd agree with you, but Houston was the only team playing today.  WSU has looked lethargic since the double OT win at UConn.  Absolutely no energy at all.

Houston looked like WSU normally looks, which was great and terrible all at the same time.

What? Are you trying so say that both feet have to be flat on the ground to draw a charge?

exactly, holy shit, if this were the rule at least half the charges would be blocks.  his heel was off the ground and his foot was not on the line when the contact was made.  they blew the call.  but again, the reason we lost is because we have a shitty coach.

Then go post on a UH board. JFC you never shut the fuck up about UH. Go blow Tillman some more

I didn’t believe you guys about baker so looked it up.  This “coach” has taken a 7 feet center or power forward and required him to take 20 three pointers and he made 1.  What explanation does Shaka give?  Does he hate inside scoring?  Never heard of such a thing.  If Shaka doesn’t like being here why doesn’t he go somewhere else?

Exactly.

Since the powers in charge have decided not to fire this excuseless excuse for a coach, why not tell him to go away, with his unearned pay, change the locks, and put one of the assistants in charge?  Get a head start looking for a replacement.

Sooner the Shaka shit show stench is gone, sooner we can move on.

It isn't Shaka's choice. That's how Will Baker wants to be utilized because that's what NBA players do. Will Baker was a highly sought after recruit and you don't land a player like that without promising that he will be trained up in an NBA style offense where everyone shoots 3's. One can only assume that he shoots a higher percentage in practice, but whatever the case he looks a lot like a bewildered freshman out there and he is in no way ready for Big12 play.

Right, it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Kansas team is made up of 7 or 8 of the best basketball athletes/players in the country.

Not even close—Duke and Kentucky have them in a much closer ratio than Kansas. Hell, Baylor is way more athletic than anyone in this conference by a mile.

So basically a guy on the team that hardly plays is being so selfish to shoot 3s against the coaches wishes?

Said coach should be fired if true, when said coach has done nothing but steal $$$ from the university.

The point Jhawk continues to ignore is, it was a bang/bang play that is normally left to stand as called, so reversing it was unusual. Not only that, but they reversed it almost immediately without going to the monitor (you could see Garrett celebrating the "made basket" before the cut to commercial).

It's the sort of curious officiating decision that too often goes KU's way. At home, on the road, doesn't matter, when the game's in the balance, referees seem compelled to interject themselves in a way that will assist the Jayhawks.

What's most ridiculous about the call is that it was absolutely unnecessary. KU didn't need the help--Texas' play over the final 3 minutes demonstrated why--but the Jayhawks sure as hell got it at a pivotal moment and in a most unusual fashion.

and the "one" was a lucky banked 3 in garbage time.
