Not really, the NCAA originally suspended him through this year, but was reduced on appeal.

THat's a completely separate issue.  The NCAA doesn't typically step in on discipline issues.  That was a eligibility issue.

Long time no see, Whitman.

Yeah, I took some time off.  I promised myself when we moved over here that I wouldn't enter CR, went in to look around, and like an idiot, engaged.  My fault, lesson learned.  Decided to take some time off, didn't even realise it had been a year.  I spent the time concentrating on masturbation and incest porn which is much healthier than CR.  It's interesting looking around (not CR) who is still here and not and the still ongoing threads.

Good to see you back. Stick around for the rest of the season.

Yea, I will.  Could you imagine if we could have 4 years of Oscar Tshiebwe vs Udoka Azubuike? It would be similar to Sampson vs Ewing 35 years ago during their college years.

Big man suspended indefinitely.

"I have suspended Silvio De Sousa indefinitely pending the final outcome of the review by KU and the Big 12 Conference," Self said in his statement. "As I said last night, we are disappointed in his actions and there is no place in the game for that behavior."

What the fuck do you need to investigate here, Bill?

I can tell none of you have watched the reverse angle.

and, your defense is going to be that he dropped the chair himself - right?  very weak sauce

WHO GIVES A CRAP!!  he picked up the chair to use as a weapon.  He dropped the chair because the people in front of him were his own players stomping on a guy.

I thought about raping your wife. Going to arrest me for it? Espn wants criminal charges pressed. Settle down snowflake. It was a fight at a basketball game where no one even landed a blow.

Also false. If you watch, the guy in black is pulled out and away before any stomping happened. The stomper was stepping over a folded up chair. Once again, you didn’t watch the other angles you just want Ku to take heat.

have anything to say about the KSU bench clearing over a stare down? What about that the first few punches were thrown by purple people?

In the context of the situation, you're trying to justify someone  who was the first one that threw a punch and picked up a weapon.

You know what they say, you can take the player out of the ghetto but you cant take the ghetto out of the player. Another case and point here. Who the fuck even thinks picking up a chair is an appropriate action. And wtf to the dudes stomping on that guys head. They should all be kicked off the team.

Once again showing your ass. He was not the first one to throw a punch. He wasn’t the second to throw a punch. But you’d rather just look at a still frame shot and make your judgement.

He most certainly was the one who threw the first punch.  He was the one that started the incident with taunting;  then there was some pushing and shoving before he got pushed backwards . He then came back with a punch. Obviously, you are then ok with him then picking up a weapon.

What is wrong with you and other fanatic morons justifying that behavior!!

Watch the other angles champ. Also, maybe go look at my posts on it. I think he’s gone and am fine with it. You don’t think anyone else has any culpability unless they are associated with Ku.

If "he is gone and [you're] fine with it" then quit being a moron trying to justify an idiot's actions.

I was simply responding to YOUR post implying something other than what is seen.  Additionally, I never said there wasnt culpability elsewhere but your idiot #22 IS NOT INNOCENT in the least.

I thought the intentional foul that started it all was a complete bitch move, especially given the circumstances.* Concede the layup, laugh your ass off, and point at the scoreboard. But maybe I don't watch enough hoops (thanks Shaka you fucking incompetent fraud).

Then the same guy taunts the dude he tried to decapitate, and for good measure brandishes a chair like he's in the WWE?

Yeah, fuck that puto.

* unless he was worried about the 2nd half spread or some shit?

I’ve spent a lot of time in the ghetto, and I’ve never seen a folding stool there

the guy is from Angola, dude.  That's not a ghetto, that's a country and a beautiful one at that.  And he went to high school at the very private and very plush IMG Academy in Florida (which I'll grant you is the state equivalent of a ghetto).

Now if if he had somehow produced and raised a cheap folding lawn chair, that would have been something.

Dawg, I never mentioned race. And a brawl is a lot different than tripping. It has to do with where these dudes grew up playing ball. Anyways, continue being an overly sensitive person and taking offense at everything. Good day.

What exactly about Angola, Montverde, and IMG makes you think an American ghetto is where he grew up playing ball?

"It has to do with where these dudes grew up playing ball."  ???

So by  "these dudes", you mean all black men?  Man, I'm giving you an out with the "Florida is a ghetto" layup, but you keep posting dumb shit that's tacitly racist.  Yes, some black college basketball players grew up in ghettos and act like assholes on those courts and on college courts.  However, this guy has very likely never seen a ghetto, let alone grow up playing ball there.

De Sousa is just an asshole.  It has nothing to do with where he grew up, or what color his skin is.  He's just an asshole.  Baked into his green, orange, red, and blue DNA is 'asshole.'  His first instinct in a brawl isn't to help his teammates or protect himself or the woman underneath him, it's to pick up the largest pieces of furniture at his disposal and try to inflict massive brain trauma on other people.  You could put that fight in the middle of Washington Park on the South Side of Chicago and De Sousa would still be an asshole.  But not because of his race or where he grew up.  De Sousa's instincts tell us what I think most of us (except Hornsby apparently) know, it's not where you grow up or what color you are, but who raises you that makes the biggest differences in life.  And apparently De Sousa's parents are assholes.  /rant

back to hoops.  I think Shaka can beat KSU now.  He's probably hoping we draw them on the first day of the conference tourney too in the 7/10 or 8/9 game.  Seems to be the only squad in our league Shaka can handle.

Was a foul called on that?  I never even heard if it was or not.  To me it looked like all ball, a monsterous fucking block that he just smashed so hard and caused the guy to bounce to the floor from the force of it.  Could be wrong though, honestly don't give a shit.

Here's the thing I wonder now, does every ref for a KU game, knowing what transpired, call the game differently?  They'll say they won't, but you know gotdamn good and well that a hard foul will be scrutinized even more so to avoid any escalation of any kind.  AND, now every fucking B12 team knows that they can set these fucking thugs off AND that the refs will be looking for anything that seems questionable.  Kind of like the hitman that threatens a life, but then it becomes common knowledge and now the hitman has to make absolute sure the target doesn't get killed because they will be the #1 suspect if it happens.

Does KU's "benefit of the call" go away?  At least the rest of the season possibly?  Self has shown once again, not only does he not have control of his program but also the players.

I think in the end we'll look back at this point going forward, and it's going to effect KU way more than some missed games by some uncontrollable chair wielding thugs in the handicap stall

KU fans that think this is over and done just because the suspensions have been handed out, are fucking kidding themselves.

No foul was called.  DeSousa got a T for taunting after the play.  Now that there has been time to digest this, a couple of things have come out.
1. Bill Self is get more scrutiny regarding whether he has control of the program.   That had sort of died out as the season was progressing, but this becomes one more incident in a series of incidents over the last few years that are a bad look for the program.  There seems to be some tension between Bill Self and the AD.

2. I do find it interesting that KU and DeSousa have put out multiple statements apologizing and taking responsibility for the incident, but we have heard nothing from KSU.  DeSousa issued a very contrite apology and I think had he not raised the stool over his head, the narrative of the fight would be much different.

3. I don’t know how the team will respond emotionally, but the suspension should have very little effect on the team.  DeSousa only played a few minutes a game and has really struggled this year.  McCormack was a starter, but KU would start two big men and struggle in the first half and played better with only one big man.  This will force Self  to play a line up that has been more productive.

4.  Long term are we witnessing the beginning of the end of the Self era.  It may depend on NCAA punishment .  I get the perception of the program by other schools and I get that many view KU fans as arrogant, but what Self has accomplished is pretty remarkable and there is no home run hire to replace him.
