My article is wrong, or do you just believe the stuff Twitter says since we're playing the idealogue with a screen game, I guess? I also like the college smack talk, but also you're just helping the working man that you so care about. You could give a rats ass if I died, or anyone else dies waiting to get treatment, as long as you feel better that you think the government is doing what's best. I'm just a people, and you're my superior. You can't even say that's not how you feel since you like bringing it up so often. Again, I'll make it crystal clear, you don't care if I die.

I also like it's not the problem that government has control of it, but that government isn't putting more money in a system the government has full control of.

Rep. Ron Wright has died from Covid-19, his office announces

WASHINGTON — Rep. Ron Wright, R-Texas, died Sunday from Covid-19, his office said Monday.

“Congressman Ron Wright passed away peacefully at the age of 67,” his office said in a statement Monday. It added, “For the previous two weeks, Ron and [his wife] Susan had been admitted to Baylor Hospital in Dallas after contracting COVID-19.".

Wright, who was re-elected to a second term in November, is the first sitting member of Congress to die from the disease caused by the coronavirus. His death comes a little more than two weeks after he tested positive for Covid-19, on Jan. 21. At the time, he said in a statement that he had been “experiencing minor symptoms, but overall, I feel okay and will continue working for the people of the 6th District from home this week.”

US Rep. Ron Wright Hospitalized Due to Cancer Treatment

Published September 14, 2020

U.S. Rep. Ron Wright (R-Arlington) was admitted to a Dallas hospital due to complications surrounding his cancer treatment, his campaign said Monday.

Wright, 67, was elected in 2018 to Texas' 6th congressional district in Arlington. His campaign said in a statement that Wright has "been in a tough battle with cancer this year" and was admitted to the National Institutes of Health in Maryland for treatment earlier this month before returning home.

So you know this personally? Because I have many friends that live in countries with universal healthcare and they have never mentioned this. I only hear this from a few people who have never been to those countries.

I do.  My grandmother in Ontario waited on some surgeries and treatment that may or may not have extended her life, but would have dramatically increased her quality of life in her waning years. Never came - she apparently was too far down the list because of age.

Boss got covid pretty bad earlier this year.  Fought as long as he could but eventually had to hit the ER.  They gave him something that eventually fixed him up and sent him back home same day.  Said his bill was 68k for the day.   I don’t know the right answer to universal healthcare, and don’t pretend to, but something is broken.

Certainly is messed up. I had some emergency treatment in late 2019 that ended up in ICU (went to traditional hospital ER not freestanding clinic).  Because it was considered an emergency, insurance coverd it no questions asked, but because they weren't approved or have an agreement with Aetna (my insurance provider) I started getting $2K-$3K invoices in the mail from various providers instead of them going straight to Aetna.

Call up Aetna and the comments are yea don't pay those, we will take care of it and we're not paying that full amount, you're covered.   I can't tell you how many threatening letters I have gotten in the last year asking for payment from me personally as they try to work it out with Aetna. They claim they are sending it to collections etc.

There is definitely something wrong when they are billing the party that isn't ultimately responsible, for an amount that is clearly negotiable. I can't imagine how many people just pay invoices as they get them thinking they're due and both the service provider and insurance company benefit.

One of my favorite John Oliver episodes was when he took a dive into medical collection businesses, then started his own, then paid off 10’s of thousands of people’s medical bills for pennies on the dollar.

Yep, he was screwed as soon as he got the covid.    I would have thought he would have been damn near first in line for a vaccine.

I thought the vaccine was the 5G death panel.  It's no coincidence they're telling us to bring our legally-owned firearms to the vaccination clinic to trade in for the second dose.  It all makes so much sense now.  i made my appointment for March 4th.  Didn't want to do it, felt I owed to my country.

So based on your article, 130,000 people died over 10 years under UK NHS because the government cut back funds.  According to our government, 26,000 people die every year due to lack of health insurance.  Extrapolate that over 10 years.  You get twice as much.  Guess you still win.

And the UK doesn't even make a profit.  Pfft, amateurs.

I’m not going to argue with you anymore on this.  You’re ignorant when it comes to basic public healthcare vs public healthcare with private options.  Whether willfully so or just being a dumbass I don’t know.  But you need to learn, motherfucker.  Do some actual learning.  Studying.

What do you mean “you’ll live”?  Do you think the US has magical cancer boundaries?  That if you’re diagnosed here you can just get magically treated and live?  And that your family won’t be bankrupted for it, so some guy can make a buck off his retirement fund?  You really should go back to school.  What would have happened to her if her country hadn’t provided insurance?  Would she have even had any?  Would a dr have even seen her?  You are ignorant.  You prove it almost every fucking day.  I hate that it’s that way but America has failed you. You have no fucking grasp of basic facts, math, or anything else other than flip flops, jeans and the internet.  Where did you come from, start with, and where are you going?  Offer that up and I might change my opinion of you.

We need a basic universal healthcare system, along with catastrophic coverage.   Take the onus off of employers directly to help small businesses.   Non-life threatening things like joint replacement and boner pills can be covered privately.  It’s not that difficult in theory, it’s difficult in practice because of uninformed people who reeee socialist like you. Knock that shit off.  It’s gonna get knocked off sooner or later. Don’t be an embarrassment to your grandkids.

Damn this whole ‘you’re more likely to die because there’s some waiting list’ talking point against any form of socialized medicine is a new one to me.

I’ve heard the expense one, despite some evidence that it’d actually save money in the larger and not ruin people’s financial situation with one horrible diagnosis.

It's not like we don't have lines and wait lists today for healthcare anyways. We've got death panels too, it's just that the guiding metric is profitability of the care. If they can't continue to reap record profits the insurance companies will just deny and add more barriers to access until their shareholders get their numbers
