RE: Kill Order In Effect!

Because of the coronavirus pandemic and the fear-mongering of the media we are a hair trigger away from chaos.

Essentially the fear around the coronavirus may make it acceptable for one person to kill another in the name of survival!

While your seemingly friendly neighbor down the street may have waved to you today…

Tomorrow they may be trying to break down your door to steal what you have.

We know that protecting your family is your #1 priority right now…

But the idea of shooting “Bob” down the street because he’s hungry is almost unthinkable.

That’s why thousands of people across the nation have picked up the Execution Torch.
This is no ordinary flashlight

Inside of this insanely bright light is advanced self-defense technology that will temporarily stop a grown man’s heart.

Disabling anyone, even 450 lb brutes, without killing them.

The Execution Torch is so powerful it’s got a built-in safety… And even with all that it’s still safe enough to carry with you daily.

Look, the coronavirus has everyone freaking out… don’t give way to panic or fear not being able to protect yourself… get a discounted Execution Torch Torch today.

Stay Safe,

GunWinner Team

The retail price on the Shockwave Torch is $59.97, but they’re discounted more than 50% off today now as part of a coronavirus promotion.  Get yours here before they sell out!

If the entire country sheltered in place for three weeks, I can see the possibility of returning to some sense of normalcy in three weeks for easter, but otherwise, with all these patchwork social distancing recommendations and orders from states and municipalities, I just don't see it for at least a month or two.

Don't suggest that in the DT thread. Apparently, that concept is political.

They think everything is "CR." Since the trumpists have very little relevant or factual fodder to pump their guy up, they abandoned this place a long time ago. Therefore, since we don't all hail dear leader here, we are an "echo chamber" that they don't like. It's so obvious which of the "no CR!" people are trumpists who are ironically cloaking the shit out of things when they try to run off any bit of criticism of our country's poor resopnse to this crisis.

Hold on sport. A lot of local governments, courts, and others are making distancing policies based on CDC guidelines, including the edict not to have more than 10 people in a single gathering. You take away those guidelines and those measures could evaporate

I'd like to put some flavor on the right-wing calculations that clearly indicate there is an acceptable additional death rate as a tradeoff to current economic shutdown.

A little googling tells me:

GDP per capita = $60K

Average worker age = 42 years

Therefore, the average worker will work another 23 years before retirement (age 65).

So, if I calculate the future value of current GDP per capita, assuming a 3% inflation rate, at 23 years I get $1.97 per current dollar.  If I go out half that far (11 years), I get $1.38, so let's use that as some sort of "average" value of future lost GDP; i.e., $83K per person per year for 23 years.  That's $1.9M per death in lost GDP.

SO, if we lose 1M Americans this year, that's an additional $1.9T lost GDP over their (average) wage-earning lifetime.

Anyone want to take a crack at shooting holes in this analysis?  Anyone want to bet the administration hasn't even done this much chickenscratch analysis?

Fuck every one of them.

This is a good point. Localities tend to take guidance from the federal government. It does not REQUIRE localities to lift the restrictions but will likely result in many doing so.

Cynic in me....maybe all the dumb Trumpers will get infected due to their stupidity to follow yellow cheeto.

Disagree with the point about Biden.  He doesn't need to be out in a crowd -- he can speak from his home.  Regular addresses, talking about working with a leadership team to plan for our future -- we are going to need a REAL president when we come out of this.  Here's what I will do.  And here's what you, the people and local governments, can do to start getting us ready for that.

In the absence of real leadership, FUCKING LEAD.  Just do it.  Start acting like the president.  Fuck, somebody has to.

Even with the guidelines in place locally, what do people think is going to happen when trump's sycophants hear they should ignore the guidelines.  Especially after they've been cooped up for a few weeks.   It's hard enough getting people to stay the fuck home. We don't need the orange god adding to it.

I will admit that the cognitive dissonance from the modern Trumpist conservatives still baffles me.

On the one hand, things that are remote threats, unlikely to harm us -- MS-13, scary mooslems, etc. -- well, those things require DRASTIC government action, expenditure of billions, and if you aren't on board with being skeered to death of these things, you hate America.

On the other hand, an actual, documented threat that is killing Americans as we speak, and is statistically all-but-certain to kill many thousands of us (more than we lost in 9/11, Iraq, and Afghanistan combined)....well, let's slow our roll and reactions to this.  Folks like the Montgomery County judge saying "naah, no shelter in place for us," that kind of thing.

In summary, mostly imaginary threats = OMG, BUILD A WALL, check every mooslem, etc.  Real threat of deadly disease = quit your libtard overreaction.

What the fucking fuck is wrong with their fucking logic circuits?  What the fucking fuck?

With all sincerity, they had such ecstasy when Trump pulled off the greatest upset of all time in 2016, nothing else matters. They are the heroin addict who continues to chase the dragon. They believe they can experience that feeling again. (They can't). Just like a heroin addict, they will OD and destroy everyone around them before they do.

They need help.

Fair point, but what's freaking me out is that the president continues to disagree with doctors during a medical emergency.

Those Asians have not been a reliable Democratic constituency.  A lot of the Vietnamese in particular tend to vote Republican (in a way that is similar to Cubans).  But I wonder if that isn't going to change with Trump's overt race-baiting with the "Chinese virus."

separate question - did anyone ask trump why his label changed from "chinese virus" to "the terrible virus" yesterday?  after all the "do you think it's racist to call it chinese" and his defending/deflecting of his word-choice, you'd think someone would follow up.  i missed about 30 min after cnn cut away.

My anecdotal observations lead me to believe that the largest influx in Frisco is the Indians.

Can't speak to modern Vietnamese-Americans, but historically there is no love lost between China and "Indochina."  And most Vietnamese-Americans, as well as Cambodian- and Laotian-Americans fled some aspect of a Chinese Communist supported government.  I'm not sure I'd assume that those Asians identify with Chinese or are in any way sympathetic to the Chinese government.

Also, I'm afraid that a lot of people that fled Communist regimes (Eastern and Central Europeans, Asians) are quite susceptible to the "socialism" rhetoric.

If only there was another government level with the most money and expertise, able to broadcast and dictate to the whole country!

Wow. Boomers don't love their children. Boomers don't care about the earth. Boomers are a homogenized group we should all hate. They sound kind of inhuman. I hear they have tails. In fact, I'm hearing that Boomers poisoned the wells to create this epidemic.

Well, that wells thing is right. Did you miss the Boomer meeting in December?

True dat concerning SE Asia not liking or actively despising the Chinese. I have a friend on FB in Vietnam and she really likes Trump simply because he is against the Chinese. The ones that live here and are catching hell because Bubba says they all look alike may not be as enthusiastic.
