my mother received her $1200 CARES payment 2 weeks ago.

my deceased mother, who's been dead going on 18 months.

smartly, i did not cash it as i felt certain someone, somewhere will figure out how to correct this mistake.

yesterday i received another letter from the treasury, as i opened it i felt sure it would give me instructions disposing of the check.

nope, it was a letter from Trump basically saying 'you're welcome'.

so i guess i'll sit on this check a while longer. neither my husband nor i got one ourselves (not a bad problem to have,  i know)...

i'll be tracking this story...if somehow they end up not even trying to get this money back, i'd like to simply endorse it and send the whole thing to Biden for President 😁

After watching that video, I believe idiocy is more contagious than COVID-19. Change my mind.

fify, and i am not sure they are in order of importance to him.   I actually think ratings is number one, the money he uses to get the ratings.  Ratings are his life.

Money is definitely up there. Brad Parscales did not play his con game as campaign manager as well as he could have. He bought homes, fancy cars, etc and after one or two articles rolled out, Trump was none too pleased about how much Parscales was diverting to his own data companies. A more capable manager figures out how to store that money w/o attracting the attention of the man who wants it for himself.

Disagree. If I go to work for Trump I know he is going to utterly screw me whenever is most advantageous for him. As a result, I am going to grift as fast and hard as I can. I think Parscale is a shitty person but he did what he wanted to do, which is maximize his financial gain.

The central disconnect with those weirdos revolves around the "100,000" number of dead and the word "incalculable."

As long it's someone else's loved ones, they are only numbers.

God, that is brutal to watch.  If only something could be done.

His swing, I'm talking about.  He looks like he shoots in the mid-120s.

On NPR they did a segment about how the checks/deposits are going out to the deceased.  And there is no set of instructions how to return the money and the IRS and Treasury are giving people the run around for paying it back.

Just what you see, pal.

Just FYI - there is an excellent documentary on Amazon, 'That Guy Dick Miller', all about the character actor Dick Miller (the guy opposite Arnold in the scene above).  Highly recommend.

Nope.  71 every time.  You can check his scorecards if you want proof.

Vegas needs to put out a prop bet on Trump calling Stacey Abrams the n-word at some point between now and the election.  It shouldn't pay out more than about 3-to-1.

I know it's been posted in this thread a few times at least, but I love the quote from Mike Tirico (a total shit heel, BTW; he was such a sexist womanizer in his early days he was pretty much THE reason ESPN's HR department was formed to deal with sexual harassment) and Trump cheating at golf. Trump's caddy told him after a round where Tirico hit "the shot of his life" to reach a par 5 in two only to find it in the greenside bunker that it actually landed 10' from the cup, but Trump got there first and threw it in the trap.

I'm a lousy golfer & thrilled to break 90. I've dealt with my share of asshole playing partners. Guys who hit one ball into the woods & come out playing an entirely different one, foot wedge champions, etc. But I've never played with someone who fucked with someone else's ball. That's as dirty as it gets.

They all tie together.  Trump is a narcissist, but he's also insecure as hell from his upbringing by Fred.  His main goal is to be revered more than Fred.  To be more popular than Fred.  To do this he wants to be not only accepted into, but begged to join the hoi polloi that snubbed Fred.  He figures being rich and popular will achieve that.  So he having money and using money to gain popularity are his goals.    You see far wealthier people with much lower profiles.  His is all public: golf, resorts, hotels, clothing lines, politics, airlines, casinos.  Anything that gets him attention.

You are right about Parscales in that it bothers Trump, but I think it's more because Parscales being so public about it makes Trump look like a chump.   Yeah, a little because it diminished Trump's pile some, but moreso the embarrassment of being taken bothers him.

At some point you have to think that these people know our current course of action is not well thought out, but instead of stepping back and pushing for review, they go the other route in trying to shame those who do reflect a little more logically.    Very akin to people who are pushy about christianity.  The more people believe as they do, then the more likely they all are to be right.

Counterpoint: of course he is, one should know that going in. But ostentatious displays get outed sooner. Trump isn't a fine print reader so continue the grift longer with the bs stall and w/o the mansions and cars, and Parscales might not end up replaced by Flynn et al and/or stay in Jared and Junior's good graces. That was his 'in' apparently--through the kids.

Edit-good point @pyrohornIII. I do overlook too often the insecurity w/respect for class position. He's been showing that for decades.
