CR: COVID-19 --Political Talk

New research provides some initial evidence that certain antagonistic personality traits are associated with ignoring preventative measures meant to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

“One potential implication from this research is that there may be a minority of people with particular personality styles (on the narcissism and psychopathy spectrum) that have a disproportionate impact on the pandemic by failing to protect themselves and others.”

Sure, there’s a deadly plague outside running wild that every other developed country has managed to contain and we are now all banned from foreign travel.  But look on the bright side, no way any country is invading us now.

America first bitches! MAGA!

That can't be true - he didn't really say that, did he?

These fuckers are just Nazi propagandists redux.

They’re quite inept at pairing the propaganda with action, though. This country was primed for a fascist takeover. They could have gone full V for Vendetta with Covid (minus releasing the disease themselves) but dropped the ball like dogs. They’ve got another shot in the fall, but they’ll have to bring the carnage themselves. Will they shit the bed and hope daddy Vlad bails then out?

Welp, that's just great.   This is a town of around 100k, so it won't take long....

I’m intimately aware of the effects of Covid 19.  What are the criteria for a healthcare system being “overwhelmed”? Have we really seen it yet?

My question, is the natural course of this disease what we’re actually experiencing? I remember reading an ER doctor account I believe from NYC of how he could actually feel on his shift when things peaked. Is that what we’re seeing here? Today’s SA and Houston hospitalization numbers are lower, less than 2 weeks since we went to mandatory masks. Is this gonna work its way through us and in the end be bad, but not terribly destructive.

It’s a fascinating bug

I need to go back and look, but perhaps two months ago I explained that I wasn't going to post much, due to my frustration with the mind boggling stupidity of our President. At the time I said the only thing that might change things is (paraphrasing - you can search for my exact words) that the only thing that might change our incredibly stupid path was a "bunch of flag waving, MAGA hat wearing, rural white good old boys."

Well looking at the Super Spreader event that Trump is holding tonight pretty much assures this is going to be the case.  Because each one of the fervent, not-mask wearing, flag waving more patriotic than you, dumb mofos, are gonna kill a lot of Republican great grandmothers.  Most folks are gonna survive now, but the very old are still gonna die.

Crazy to thing think that only the President can have a super spreader event.  The tales of the hospitalized from Trump events are about 4-5 weeks away.  So sad that an insecure mans ego, will change so many lives unnecessarily.

You do need to watch FOX to watch what is America's only foreign controlled broadcast network is profiting on.  Lot of extra dead folks gonna lay at the Tump/ Murdock alter.

Sort of funny as I watch FOX's coverage of the orange man, a big wind shift made the crowd air flow into Trumps face.  Irony.

Everything trump touches dies. Everything he says is a lie.

It makes things much easier to understand.

So you think the hospitals are issuing warnings for the fun of it? There is a 10 minute video in either this thread or the Texas based thread you might want to watch. I believe it was from a hospital in the San Antonio area.

And if you are aware of the effects (not just death) to turn around and say ‘not destructive’ seems pretty callous.

Just caught Abbott’s “whoopsie” interview. It’s going to be interesting to watch him blame alcohol and bars for the second wave as he panders to his dry East TX base and steps over how he was flatly ordered to reopen by his oil holding puppeteers.

Make no mistake, when oil went negative the people with petroleum holdings didn’t give a fuck how many people would die. Abbott’s only priority has been getting people out driving around.

it’s the Methodist here in SA. I know a few Dr.s from there thru work and an admin was my best friend since 4th grade all of whom are redass republicans.

I have heard some unreal stories and seen some seriously fucked up photos. shit is beyond real there. Not going to elaborate too much, but I can pass along that people who are sick with other shit are dying who shouldn’t because there just aren’t enough people to handle everything.

Do not go to the hospital right now unless you absolutely have to. You could seriously die from medical incompetence.

Unpossible!  Trump shut Jina down early.  People told him not to, but he did it anyway!

If Dotard Jr. doesn't have it yet then surely he gets it during the 24 hr drive from SD to wherever they're going.

Starting to see some “come on guys, just wear your masks” post on Instagram from fucktards who 2 weeks ago were spewing political conspiracies about the severity of everything.

thats in thing I like about insta is that you can’t edit, only delete. It’s like a masters course in watching how people try and convince themselves they weren’t wrong.

The US has 25% of all covid deaths on the planet while we make up 5% of the population.  Good work morons.

Something to consider is that India China Indonesia Paki etc all have much lower percentage of elderly than the US.  That doesn’t mean anything is acceptable, but helps to put some context around the observation.

It’s going to take SEC football coaches saying no college football unless numbers go down. Wear a mask.

Everyone except Alabama and LSU fans would just label their coach a libcuck and advocate for them to be fired because they're not that good anyway. LSU fans would fall in line because Orgeron is basically the Zeus of Louisiana now. I'm not sure how Bama fans would handle that from Saban.

To be fair, Brazil probably has twice as many deaths as they are reporting.   They fully implemented the suppression of testing and counts that our leadership wanted to implement.  Luckily, for now, we still have the carcasses of the CDC and free press around to give us a little bit of transparency.

Orgeron and Saban have both made PSA advocating use. Both Mike Leach and Lane Kiffin wore masks to the MS Capital for the flag changes. Malzahn has given players mask to wear. Kirby Smart said the same exact thing I typed out. Florida has been on top of it and Mullen has been photographed with a mask in zoom meetings.Muschamp and Mark stoops protested with their players while wearing masks. Tennessee is requiring mask for their players for non cardio. Didn’t see much specifics on Mizzou. Otherwise I think I covered every state except for A&M and there cuck coach.

I don’t think incompetence is the right word. You’re calling overworked, exhausted, frightened, pissed off doctors and nurses inept.

I think they better phrase is people who shouldn’t die may die because mass systemic collapse.

You are assuming they are in the same car.  Much like Melania hates dotard, Kimberly probably hates dotard, jr.  I am pretty sure their gold digging escort contracts only require occasional sex and public appearances.

I think that there is likely a fair bit of under-reporting among the countries I listed.  Brazil is another good one from the top 10 to add to the mix.

Let’s see... no.

im talking about someone I know, a Dr., telling me they are worried about losing their license because they are aware of a veteran nurse letting someone die on an rolling bed outside an undisinfected room because they were “too tired”.
Believe whatever horseshit you want. Shit is bad.

A little more reporting on that quadriplegic COVID case discussed upthread, more about the guardianship issue in the embedded link from CMO of St. Davids.
