I take your point, but I'd also counter that list is a who's who of heterodox Republicans (and Democrats), and that's probably a better descriptor of the kind of guest that Rogan has on than a member of the Federalist society or Heritage Foundation.

Regardless, I guess the consensus opinion on surly is that his listeners should be abandoned to whatever lies the MAGA aligned would feed them.

They have no desire to have their minds changed by the left. Put the effort in elsewhere and let them figure it out on their own. It's the only way they'll accept change anyways.

Have we learned nothing in the last 10 years?

Eh, I've gotten promotions and raises over others that made me wonder if it was just my white maleness. Or at the very least my background knowledge of topics that matched with the CEO's background knowledge making it easier to communicate that pushed me through.

Sure, but if your knowledge of topics matches your CEO, that’s your class privilege. Granted that’s bound up in your race because of the history involved, but that’s a different issue. The bottom line is that if you got a promotion because your knowledge matches that of your CEO, you aren’t a lower middle class white person.

It's not called an echo chamber for nothing. And a lot of the sub-chambering is totally by design. When Charlie Kirk got shot, it was revealed that a large portion of his social media following had never heard his controversial political, racial, and cultural opinions. It was all God this and God that. Intentionally sanitized feeds carefully crafted to maintain the illusion for the less aggrieved and those people who weren't terminally online.

I was a listener. I left. The people who stayed stayed because they like those lies. It isn't like they aren't able to listen to other things. They aren't victims.

Yeah, if there's one thing I've learned since Trump first got elected, it's that really fucking dumb people can hold some extremely strong (and incorrect) notions of how things work and how they affect them.

What fucking podcast? YouTube essayists are not podcasters. You can not like whatever you want, but that doesn't make you immune from getting criticized for having a shit take because you clearly didn't understand the content and thought the guy was being overly serious when it's literally the exact opposite.

Joe Rogan admits he bought into Donald Trump’s campaign promises. And he now says the results have not been ideal

If he wants to use his platform to keep people away from Trump

mexico thread GIF

Speaking with guest and fellow comedian Ron White, Rogan opened up about how the public misinterprets his personal political views. He acknowledged his role in helping boost Trump’s presidential run, but insisted that he has held left-wing beliefs for his entire life. He explained that he simply bought into the idea that the administration would drain the swamp, which has clearly not happened.

The candid admission quickly made waves across social media, drawing reactions from both sides of the aisle. Many fans pointed out that Rogan played a major part in driving young male voters to the polls during the election season. His sudden shift in tone marks a significant change in how he talks about the administration on his platform.

During the recorded discussion, Rogan could not help but laugh as he reflected on his influence during the election cycle. He noted that people naturally label him conservative simply because of his appearance and his high-profile support for Trump.

Rogan emphasized that he genuinely believed the campaign rhetoric about cleaning up government corruption before voting. Looking back at the promises sold to voters, he admitted that the reality of the situation has fallen far short of expectations. His humorous take on getting duped highlighted his growing frustration with federal politics.

This is not the first time Rogan has taken shots at the movement he previously backed on air. Earlier in the year, the host tried to separate himself from hardline MAGA followers, famously calling elements of the group dorks and weirdos. His latest comments show he is increasingly comfortable calling out the administration’s shortcomings.

Still, it remains to be seen if he actually acts in a serious manner towards calling out Trump's bullshit.

Motherfucker fully embraced the Tea Party movement and MAGA, he would be marching in lockstep with all these rat fucking traitors running the GOP in Texas. Never rehabilitate the image of Republicans. They are all the same and they all own this.
