I hope Duncanville gets removed from the Dallas / Richardson waste land & put back in the district of doom (DeSoto, Cedar Hill, S Grand Prairie, etc).

They probably will because 6A is losing White and Molina of DISD (only Skyline remains). Richardson probably gets fused with Mesquite again, leaving D'Ville to go back.

Hopefully Austin high gets moved down. I heard they were 25 kids over last time. They need to pull a “Highland Park” move and hide some kids offsite.

That's already settled.  Austin is 6A.  They reported 2359 and the cutoff for 6A is 2220.

bummer. they cannot win in 6A. Really need to push them down.

I think this go around we will see some really head scratching districts (more than usual). The Div 1 Div 2 splits plus allowing schools to opt up is making it difficult make some of these districts

Two days before NSD #2 we have the UIL announcement next Monday.  It's always interesting to see the goofy things, like Cy-Fair ISD being split into two Regions.

still doing that. just shifted Cy Falls from Region 3 to Region 2. Bryan and Tomball Memorial got moved out of the Cy Fair district so they are now both 8 team districts instead of 9. Katy ISD has its own 7 team 6A district with Paetow in 5A

Midway and Waco High to 11-6A and Bryan to 12-6A. Interesting.

11-6A is insane. That's probably the toughest iteration the district of doom has ever had.

Back when Waco was good, they'd have made it a lot of fun. Now that they aren't, they're in for a severe beating on the regular.

I hope Kwame Cavil can get things turned around, but that district will make it extremely tough.

San Marcos replaces Anderson.  Sigh. Outside Westlake and Lake Travis what a shitty district.

Has Bowie been competitive recently? Maybe the demographics changed that way.

San Marcos might not win a game now that NB Canyon is out of their district.

L-OH-FUCKING-L, look at this dogshit:

Austin Achieve
Austin Eastside Memorial
Geronimo Navarro
Manor New Tech
SA Young Men's Leadership
Wimberley

Navarro and Wimberley will beat all the others as bad as they want to.

Manor Tech is the only other team in that district that won a game last season at the varsity level -- they went 1-9 and beat Eastside Memorial 52-0.  Austin Achieve played 6-man.  Their mascot is the Polar Bears, so that have that going for them, which is nice.

Plus Kwame is losing kids to Midway.  I'm pulling for him but it's gonna be tough.  Waco should be better than it is

You excluding Navarro on purpose? Bc they went 13-1 last year and they are usually a perennial power house

Midway is open enrollment, which makes that even harder.

Holy shit Longview and Highland Park will be fun.

I welcome the challenge. They’ll be stiff for sure.

That being said, why does poor Sherman continue to get thrown into these districts? They’re a fucking 3-hour drive away from Longview and damn near the same for Tyler.

Lancaster will go undefeated in district play. They got stuck with the Dallas schools.

District 4 in 5A Division 1 has six different schools who have gone three rounds deep the past two years.

Glad Aledo didn't get the FW district many assumed they'd get.  Maybe Timberview can compete with then for a few quarters.

What is SA young men’s leadership? Some charter school?

It’s an SAISD charter school, on the east side just south of that giant railyard, on the old Wheatley middle school campus. There’s one for girls too. They started as middle schools but are expanding to the high school level. Had no idea they had a football team. It’s the kind of school that seems easy to turn into an athletic factory given the open enrollment policy, but that’s not their MO. They’ll be a doormat in everything athletics wise.

The problem is Longview, the two Tyler schools and Lufkin not balancing their enrollment.  They should work with neighboring districts to have a competitive East Texas district (like 5A div2 dist9) because if they could field just 5 teams the UIL would give it to them.  Otherwise they are 2+ hours out from everyone.

Well I mean I understand lumping them in with the likes of us, West Mesquite, Wylie East, etc. But why Sherman? Couldn’t they have placed them in the Denton district and placed the Colony somewhere else?

Yep should have kept Waco and midway in 12 and sent Bryan to 13

Poor Rio Grande City got put in a district with Laredo, San Antonio, & Eagle Pass schools. Their closest away games will be at least 2 hours one way.

District 32-6A added Weslaco & sacrificial lamb Donna North.

LOLz.  So what are you suggesting, that Lufkin shut down Hudson or Central( neighboring schools, neither of whom play football?)

What do you mean balance their enrollment?

What you'll find in those towns is that their fans don't really complain about the travel.  It's always the DFW folks bitching about how far it is to Longview  or the Houston burbans griping about that drive up to Ole Abe...
