Didn't A.J. Soprano do a couple semesters at Rutgers?
Man, del Conte had a helluva year with Baseball rounding out the season at #3.
Amazingly deep athletics department when football and basketball finish mediocre as usual, but we still won the Director's Cup.
What can be achieved here with competent coaching is truly motto worthy.

Jackie Jr. went to Rutgers.

I remember that about Jackie's kid.  For some reason, I thought after CC, A.J. ended up at Rutgers briefly before flunking out again.  But after thinking about it, he just bounced around in CC and odd jobs.

Back to thread topic, del Conte is working harder than any of us this summer.  I am really, really glad he came to Texas.  Dodds was just getting complacent and he deserved to enjoy retirement, the man completely changed the landscape of college athletics decades ago.  But it had all passed him by.  Mike Perrin was supposed to just be an interim placeholder, had no idea he'd stick around that long.  He is literally one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and to call him a diehard Longhorn is an insult.  The 1-2 combination of Patterson and Pres. Fenves really fucked us.  Fenves didn't want to sabotage anything, he just felt like college athletics was an afterthought for UT at best, at worst---he saw it as a nuisance.  We could end up in a great "zone" with del Conte and Hartzell.  Not crazy about going to the SEC, but the landscape is changing again, may as well be at the vanguard.

What specifically is "del Conte is working harder than any of us this summer" he working on?

I would be really interested in hearing about his NIL strategy, and how Texas plans to take advantage of all it's inherent strengths to crush it in recruiting.

Well so far he's just waiting while other schools are getting ready to stuff money into the players.  Explains why our recruiting momentum is dogshit at the moment.

As an out of stater… what is the current Texas state guidelines/policy?

I don’t see how it’s enforceable in the slightest even if it is “required”. It was a thing at Atlanta Braves games earlier this year as masks had to be worn through the gate but once inside most everyone took them off.

Is this true? If so, no wonder Quinn Ewers is going to Ohio State if he's expecting to make six, maybe seven figures there and we're just feeling it out. Saban wasted no time talking about his seven figure QB who hasn't taken a snap. I've been wondering about why we seem to be missing on so many top targets, but this would explain a lot.

Oh snap, looks like we just launched some program that specifically allows players to license their name/image/likeness and use the University's trademarks along with it. Being able to sell your name and image with the most recognizable logo in sports attached seems like it could be a big deal?

I like "Big Beertha" -- a lot of the other stuff, not so much.

CDC may want to take a look at the Athletics marketing office. Got this email from athletics this morning. Think someone is confused.

Texas Volleyball National Championship Gear is Here!

Bench Tees.

Apparently the south end zone project had some cost overruns that we need to try to cover by selling the stuff that should have been sent to Mexico months ago.
