Quick search shows that Weigman's dad is VP-Ops for Cotton.

No big deal, but explains why they have NIL with him and were so gung-ho to sponsor this.  Was it mentioned how much they are putting up to be the title sponsor?  I agree with whoever said it above that it is better than giving all their $$ straight to tamu.

Major kudos to our esteemed Athletic Director.

He personally called me and others in response to our complaints about issues at the game/Fair Saturday. He will be having discussions with Cotton Bowl Stadium representatives about the issues we experienced in hopes of resolution or at least improvement where possible.

Were the issues “OU…it sucks?”

I dont pay a tremendous amount of attention to other schools AD's, but CDC is so damn good at his job, its hard for me to think he's not the best AD in the country. I showed up to campus in the Dodds era, and CDC makes Dodds seem "meh." I'm not ready to even talk about the Patterson/Perrin thing. CDC excels in all aspects of his job, and is a smooth m'fer.  Contrast CDC to the stupid fucking buffoons they routinely hire in aggyville, and you realize how good we have it.

I just complained about the ticket scanning fiasco and the massive cluster at some gates. He wants to know what goes wrong so it can be addressed.

He was aware of some of what I shared and not aware of other things, but I’m sure he or someone on his behalf had read this board to see what fans were saying. I appreciate the desire to listen to regular fans.

Statement Regarding Fan Behavior at Last Night's Texas-Georgia Football Game

A message from UT System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife, UT President Jay Hartzell and Vice President and Lois and Folger Athletics Director Chris Del Conte.

10.20.2024

Statement Regarding Fan Behavior at Last Night's Texas-Georgia Football Game:

While we deeply appreciate the passion and loyalty of our fan base at The University of Texas at Austin, we do not condone the unsportsmanlike conduct that was exhibited by some individuals throwing objects onto the field during last night's game and sincerely apologize to the University of Georgia players, coaches and fans, as well as the Southeastern Conference and officiating crew. This type of behavior will not be tolerated.

Respect, sportsmanship, and fairness are the values that drive our program, and we expect all of our fans to uphold these standards. We are committed to fostering a positive environment for all participants, teams, officials and fans, and we will take steps to ensure that this type of behavior does not happen again.

We appreciate the support of Longhorn Nation and are confident that, moving forward, we will continue to represent our university with pride and respect.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

UT System Board of Regents Chairman, Kevin Eltife
UT President, Jay Hartzell
UT Vice President and Lois and Folger Athletics Director, Chris Del Conte

He called me a few years ago when I sent an email for him to "earn his new extension and handle the football coaching staff".

I was near speechless when I answered the phone and it was him

Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte talks innovation, fan loyalty, future of college athletics

University of Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte was recently honored as the "Austinite of the Year" by the Austin Chamber of Commerce – a recognition he sees as a reflection of the institution and the city, rather than a personal accolade.

In a wide-ranging interview with KVUE's Bryan Mays, Del Conte discussed his role, the athletic department's achievements and his vision for the fan experience at Texas sporting events.
