I’m sure some will disagree but I don’t get the resistance on logos on the field by CDC. I agree with not wanting them on jerseys.

Our field doesn’t need to look like a European basketball jersey but I don’t see how a few corporate logos takes away from the pageantry of the stadium. It would be a huge money maker.

They're not different than those goofy ass CFP logos

Love how CDC basically announced that Jim Davis is going to be the permanent president.  That dude can go off script with the best of them.

In what world does Texas need MORE money?

Seeing as how they raised ticket prices for next season to help offset the increased costs of additional scholarships moving forward, I'd say the world we're living in now.

That turf is a fucking abomination and can be slapped with logos up and down the field for all I care. But when we go back to grass I want it clean and crisp with minimal logos.

Steve Sarkisian, Sean Miller, and Jim Schlossnagle is a top ____ trio of coaches in major college athletics.

This is a great question. Top 3 for sure and probably #1. And I’m not that fired up about Miller.

My thought is that it is top 4, with Tennessee, Oregon, and Alabama the other contenders.

And not to salt the wound but if Beard is still at Texas it is easily #1.

I prefer “Which one of these is not like the other?”

I think with Miller having more access to NIL he'll attract better players for his offensive scheme. They'll probably give him whatever he needs to be competitive. He's not a bad coach, and he was pretty good at Arizona, he just needs to get over the hump, which, imo, I think he can do with the UT logo. The logo itself has proven it will attract good to great players in all sports at the university.

I still would ask CDC to make Billy Donovan say NO. Getting back into today’s SEC, with NIL access, I think he’d thrive in this landscape. Chicago is a dead future for him.

Miller brings the trio down. Top 15 I guess

Miller is still probably a top 20-25 coach. If we say that Schloss is top-3 and Sark is top 5-7, I doubt you can find 10 trios of coaches better than that, let alone 15.

Miller couldn’t get over the hump with top tier NIL at Arizona.

He won multiple conference championships and made multiple elite 8’s though. If the only criteria to get over the hump is to win it all, not many have done that.

Championships are the ultimate goal in sports, arguing otherwise is loserish.

I do agree with this (I'm sure everyone does), but he'll get whatever he wants here. The are tons of coaches who have won it just once - Tom Izzo, Calipari, Scott Drew, Tony Bennet, Kevin Ollie, Jim Boeheim, Gary Williams, Tubby Smith, Jim Valva no, and the list goes on.

I'm not saying Miller will win it all, just saying we've never won one in men's basketball, and there's still hope. Let's at least see what he can do. The game has changed, and maybe he can acctract better players with the UT logo.

Arizona has the same NIL money pool as Texas?

Are you not aware of why Arizona had to vacate two seasons worth of wins under Miller’s tenure?

Why isn’t Rick Barnes still the coach at Texas?

By every metric that matters Sark has solidified his position as a top 4 coach at minimum the past 2 seasons.

Players drafted, recruiting rankings, playoff appearances/rankings, conference championship appearances/wins

You know the things that matter.

Sark was not known to be Top 3 at the time of his hire. Far from it.

I am way more impressed with what Del has been able to do with the women's sports and as icing on that cake he shoved plodsky in some cubical or janitors closet and told her to stay there

All in all, I'd be surprised to find out there is an AD anywhere who's even close to - much less ahead of - Mister Del Conte.

As Bum Phillips said when some dumbass reporter asked if he thought Earl Campbell was in a class by himself, "Well, I don't know about that, but I do know it don't take long to call roll."

I'm so grateful for how he handles the searches as well. No more embarrassing reports, delays, etc. He handles it behind the scene and move quickly. Great representative of the university.

Active coaches who have won a championship are the only acceptable new coach candidate pool?

I don't have as lofty of expectations out of men's basketball as I do from football or baseball. For me, have a fun brand of offense that'll get butts in seats at Moody, finish in the top 25 every year, and make the 2nd weekend of The NCAA Tournament every now and again.

Apparently, people who know better than me say Sean Miller can do all these things. I look forward to seeing for myself in person at a couple of games next season.
