So I think I got roasted pretty thoroughly back on hornfans when I was acting gleeful at the death of that piece of shit Jerry Falwell.  I'm glad to see that more of you are joining me in realizing that you don't have to be nice to a piece of shit just because they are dead or dying. I have never believed in sainting someone just because they died.  They still did good and bad stuff while alive, and it dishonors their memory to whitewash the bad.

Facts.

Both statements are equally true.

There's something fundamentally decent about not saying out loud (or posting on a message board) everything you're thinking about a person who as a death's door.  And our country needs a lot more decency.  For my part, I try my best to be decent.  So with a nod toward decency, I'm not going to comment on this news.

But you  have observed my posting history.  You doubtless know my political opinions.  And so you will probably be able to guess my thoughts on this matter, even though I am declining to express them on this thread.

Hateful invective being spewed at a man because of his hateful invective.

cant decide if it’s appropriate or sad.

rush off the air and off of social media is a win. Rush off the earth is just another statistic.

Yeah I get that, but being shit on by people who claim to be the upholders of decency have liberated me from feeling the need to show them any decency in return.  I completely understand why others might decide to maintain their own sense of decorum in a different way than I would.

It would only be appropriate if I did it to make money. It's merely irrelevant.

Having watched my dad succumb to lung cancer, I can attest that's its not a pleasant way to go, and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. For that reason, I "pray" for Rush and hope that instead of a slow, arduous, life-sapping struggle with cancer, he gets hit by a fucking bus and his demise is instantaneous. Best I can do for that self-serving cunt. Fuck him.

I prefer fat hateful tubs of shit who smoke too much and are pillheads and don't get cancer. President moron mocked the death of a war hero in John McCain. Sean Hannity can literally fuck off and die for his hypocrisy.

He thought nothing of the damage and pain he brought to others with his constant invective. He damaged the republic for a buck. He was proud of being pitiless.

He promoted racism and homophobia.

He will be plentilly grieved by his cult. But not by me.

Maybe he'll learn some compassion and humility in his remaining days. That might be enough for God. But not for me.

Piss on Rush Limbaugh.

Let me guess.

There will be a moment of silence in the Senate, or some proclamation of some kind voted on.

Team R in the house will introduce something, but it will get shot down.  Then, the President will tweet that the House is being too mean to a patriotic American who has done "a lot" for this country.

Imagine that.  A life of drug use and smoking leads to an early death.

Somebody enlighten me on this.  It has been at least 12 years since I listened to him on purpose.  As far as I know he smoked cigars and got addicted to pain killers when he had some ear work done-not exactly tempting fate, except fro the being an awful human being part.

He went on pills for back pain or something and abused them to the point they made him deaf.

He also was busted with a load of Viagra coming back from a bachelor party in the Dominican Republic.  I don't know what Viagra does to you long term, as I've never needed it and haven't researched it, but its worth calling out that 13 years ago he was already struggling to get a boner.  Why he'd need a boner while he was unmarried is beyond me, considering what a decent and pious man he is, but whatever.

He did so many pills that it made him go deaf and he was buying the pills from behind a gas station.

Well technically, every pharmacy is behind a gas station somewhere.

No doubt Trump is his GOP followers will use his sickness/death to the max to further divide us and paint the other side as evil ne'er-do-wells.

back in 2007 but I wish I could still find the link to what Brian actually said--along the lines of Rush isn't fitting to be a boil on his ass--went hard in the paint.  Basically he was replying to Rush scrubbing his site and saying he never said anything about phony soldiers to which Brian replied that he had heard his comments first hand.  But you can research on your own....

Brian McGough, 31, a former Army staff sergeant who was wounded in Iraq, knew he wouldn’t receive a warm response from talk-show host Rush Limbaugh when he starred in an ad made by the anti-Iraq war-veterans group VoteVets.org.

The ad, which featured a photograph of McGough’s shaved head with jagged scars, was a response to Limbaugh’s implication during a Sept. 26 broadcast that anti-war vets are “phony soldiers”:

“Rush, the shrapnel I took to my head was real, my traumatic brain injury was real and my belief we are on the wrong course in Iraq is real,” says McGough, looking straight into the camera. “Until you have the guts to call me a phony soldier to my face, stop telling lies about my service.”

Limbaugh responded on air Tuesday, comparing McGough metaphorically to a suicide bomber.

The ad, Limbaugh said, was “a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran, lying to him about what I said, then strapping those lies to his belt, sending him out via the media in a TV ad to walk into as many people as he can walk into.”

Here's to hoping that fack fut spends all of his fortunes on his health and still swallows dust for eternity.

He blamed his maid--said they were hers when it was first discovered he had a drug problem.
