I don't listen to Rush so I will venture an educated guess.

I know he's a right wing syndicated radio host, so if there's an equivalent I would have to say NBC, ABC and CBS. Thats the traditional liberal broadcasting networks, I won't delve into the cable news networks.

We could probably argue TV>Radio but fuck equivalent's you have a point to prove, right?

I guess you're unable to read also. I told you im not familiar with Rush, I just know he's a right wing radio jockey.

I cant give you a person who is on par with him but if were considering right wing vs left wing I guess anyone on MSNBC who is left wing would be on par?

This is your argument, not mine.

It's funny that you mentioned that because just yesterday I was watching John Oliver's segments on Brexit. One of them contained a clip from a televised interview with Michael Gove, the UK Justice Secretary. The interviewer pointed out that literally every single UK-based and global economic policy groups who studied the inescapable effects of Brexit pointed out that it was going to have a very adverse consequence for the UK and the world, to which Gove said "I think the people in this country have had enough of experts with organizations from acronyms."

Yes, why bother paying attention to findings from people/organizations whose job it is to research and discover those findings when one can simply rectally derive fairy tales and dreams of make believe "prosperity" via posting bullshit on the sides of buses? And just as a side note, what the fuck does "organizations from acronyms" even mean?

Preach!

I absolutely loved my tax dollars going to NOAA. Those folks with their obsession over ocean currents, GOES maps, and all things weather and climate have done so much for our country. It has been a wonderful example of a government public service benefiting citizens, businesses, and the world through shared data.

Not happy that they are trying to privatize it (who cares about lives lost due to tornadoes when we can make money!!!) But what is especially galling is listening/watching people that have about the same amount of knowledge as I do (little to none) pronounce all of the climate data and science as flawed and not worthy of discussion and therefore nothing should be done. Scientists are not perfect communicators, and they do need to have clear examples when talking to lay people about what is FACT and what is not fact or is being debated w/respect to trends, etc. But the politicians have grabbed ahold of science and experts in a variety of fields and are holding them hostage, IMO.

I realize this person's been banned, but he's completely wrong about everything he says:

What's wrong with this country is that in intellectual discourse, we've become too permissive and sympathetic towards other people's opinions for the mere sake of it. This is straight out of the Fox News playbook. To borrow a quote from David Brock when he was interviewed for Glenn Greenwald's Outfoxed when he was actually speaking of Roger Ailes but the same holds true for the right wing in general: [they] want all [discussion] to be a matter of opinion because opinion can't be proven false. I think that is very dangerous because if people don't have a set of facts that they can agree upon, I think it's difficult to reach a consensus on what's correct public policy."

Again, Limbaugh is Exhibit A of this vulgar behavior. And again, it's not just him. It's his entire genre. They want all discourse to be a matter of straight out fucking make believe and pretend, and Science forbid if you challenge them on that because if you do, you're slandered and projected with lazy, rubber-stamped accusations of being close-minded, intolerant, and ignorant. For example, saying "trickle down economics works and is a societal good" isn't an opinion; it's a straight up lie that has been exposed over and over again without exception or interruption. But challenge that? Oh boy, here comes the S-word, not that they who use it as a pejorative ever even knew what the fuck it means.

This is postmodernism gone absolutely berserk. According to spineless pieces of shit like this one, there are not supposed to be any facts, there is not supposed to be any truth; all discourse is supposed to come down to your "narrative" vs. my "narrative." It's disgusting, and the person who posted the quoted passage is disgusting for promoting it.

Also, we are not divided because people insist on establishing basic facts/truths upon which to base public policy, either. We're divided because there's a very small segment of the population that wants to divide us and keep us divided so as to distract us from the fact that we're constantly being fucked over by them. The Koch Brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Tom Steyer, the Uihleins, etc? Divide and conquer isn't a hypothesis; it's a historic truism that's as old as nation states themselves. They who promote it don't care about ideology, and they sure as fuck don't give a shit about any of us posting here or anywhere else. They care about fattening their own pocketbooks even if it means pouring tens of millions of dollars to political campaigns. As long as it benefits them to stoke the flames of divisiveness via screaming about "socialism/communism" or "fascism," that's what they're going do regardless of its accuracy.

Yes and the notion that Rush (conservatives) put forth with regards to climate change, that our influence is not large enough, nor could ever be large enough to cause man made global warming/climate change because of God or convenience is a dangerous opinion, or more of a notion really.

I was watching a documentary on Teflon last night (The Devil We Know). Aside from yet again showing corporate bad behavior with human interest stories there was an interesting point that was illustrated and backed up with actual science: That the fluorine compounds and their waste  that form the working parts of teflon and other related non stick compounds are so persistent and pervasive and have been discarded and used so universally that 99% of all humans have these compounds in their bodies, where they did not exist before.

We also know about plastic showing up in the bodies of people living in the isolated portions of the European Alps as well as just about everybody else.

..or about Mercury showing up in almost all pelagic species.

What the fuck is wrong with people?

There was a great article that came out in the Atlantic a few years ago about “the death of expertise”. We now distrust people that have devoted their life to a field of study to instead listen to a political hack with a catchy phrase.

So, neither EMAW — nor you — can produce an example of a single poster who exhibits the same sort of racist rhetoric Limbaugh used against a political opponent (bones in noses), but you still decided it’s a good idea to respond with a random video clip of a black sports fanatic making funny animal sounds to prove some point.

Be direct and use the lesson your momma taught you about using words to express yourself. I know you’re capable of speech and don’t have to rely on non sequitur video clips.
