Guess you need to be careful. This was about a mile away from my house on Super Bowl Sunday. House is a total loss. Word was that the oven got built and used the house's chimney, which seems odd. af78cfc51c5e18db1798e024c5163067.jpg91082a03de55db37a49f77f6c49569c6.jpg4a7972908facba96882aef90ecf01a95.jpg27afeb1ec0ff243461421d0a99f1cb04.jpg

Dumb question: why is sharing the chimney a bad idea?

I might guess a couple of reasons.  Unless the pizza oven is on the backside of the fireplace, and even then, the flueing might get contorted.

And, it's quite possible that adding the pizza oven jacked up the draft (having too much "open" at the bottom keeps it from drawing up the flue).

Either or both of these conditions might have caught a cinder in the flue that lit everything up, or the pizza oven got too hot.

Doesn't it look like the roof went first?

I'll bet some asshole burned paper or something that floated up.

Edit: I am NOT a Harvard educated disaster scientist though.
