So the Narrator on the Science Channel program The Planets and Beyond just used the term felching.

Wendigo. its a Native American mythologcal shapeshifting creature that is the result from cannibalism and being caught between the spirit realm and the natural realm. they are said to eat those who've wronged them and/or people they once loved. but thats not important right now.
