I wouldn't say it's unpredictable, but it's all very well done. The monsters live in service of the human story and the show is better for it.

My biggest issue was sleeping in the middle of a big room. I’m finding somewhere to hide myself from view.

Better to put the glass shards outside of the room in which you’re sleeping

Wouldn't have helped either way since he was sleeping on his good ear and couldn't hear shit lol

Turns out that complaining about Kathleen was wasted energy. Her death was pretty satisfying

Yeah. I think I was having TWD flashbacks and fearing that she would be a main villain for Terri seasons.

nothing here that hasn't already been said effusively and repeatedly, but Long, Long Time was an amazing piece of television. i started the show last night and watched the first two episodes. then today as i was just about to start episode 3 my mom stopped by, so i showed her the "previously on" for episodes 1 and 2 and we sat there for the next hour and fifteen minutes just watching episode 3. when it ended, we both were just sitting there like, "whoa." definitely an episode that i'll be watching again soon. outstanding.

This really is a there are no happy endings type of show. But it's so damn good. They make you care for a couple of characters for an entire hour, show you their backstory, and then you root for them to survive because you get their motivations. Soul crushing is the best word to describe this show. We had to watch some light hearted YouTube clips after to recover.

Spoiler

Ellie sure was confident that a couple drops of her blood would work as a cure. Good thing she didn't wake up to find little dude feasting on Joel and Henry.

The take the sniper out then become the sniper scene reminded me of GTA.  Imagine that is probably straight out of the game, no?

The entire sniper encounter from the game.

i take it you preferred TLOU?

Yes. FC5 is a lot of repetitive missions/tasks, TLOU is a journey.

TLOU also came out 5 years before FC5; I'd wager many games borrowed from it.

When the apocalypse comes I hope we don’t put the sarcastic Karens in charge. You gotta love when a show sets up a hateable character and then pays off with a big death.

As someone said, the post episode inside feature was great this week.

I came into this show never having played let alone seen any of the game, so I didn't have any expectations.  That was another fucking stellar episode.  Huge swing in emotion throughout the episode and absolutely gutted at the end.

That would mess me up to have to play a left handed character, and that guy has some strong quads.

Ha! Trying going through life as a lefty where everything is designed backwards.

Everyone is born right-handed. Only the greatest overcome it.

I finally gave up on TWD in season 10, mainly because they never had emotional moments land like this latest one in ep 5.  They sure tried a lot, but always fell short. This show has done it twice in just the first 5 episodes.

i don't play any computer/console games, but i used to play a few phone games with my nephews, and that clip reminded me of how fun sniper rifles were/are in fortnite.  best part of the game imo.  nothing like plugging someone from across a river who has no idea anyone even has him in a scope.

A worse version of TLOU game that is still a fun play is Days Gone. In case anyone is getting the itch.

Loved days gone. I actually thought it was harder to beat than TLOU but the characters and story weren't quite as good.
