Well, yeah, because our color is unique, a decidedly non-standard combo of orange and brown, and has changed over time, as opposed to "red" or "yellow".

Harvard does get neurotic about their crimson, but that's mostly because it's not what you'd usually think crimson is, like OU or Bama.

It also wasn't really a thing until we started regularly fucking the color up everywhere. Been to the Co-op recently? There used to be burnt orange in there.

It has come to my attention that none of y'all have a single fucking clue what kind of rap music the players these days listen to.

There's still rap music out there these days?

Per my buddy with intimate knowledge of the SEZ lighting project:

  • "You NEED to be there to see it in person." Says it's the coolest thing he's seen in 30 years in the industry.
  • Texas spent 18 months interviewing suppliers to guarantee that lights spec'd would be truly burnt orange. This wasn't limited to "show us a sample", think tours of manufacturing facilities.
  • Original SEZ lighting package bid was about $2.4mm. Is now $3+mm

Cool so lightning and new field color won’t match jerseys. Thanks a lot CDC.

So I realized that since Longhorns is a 9 letter word with H as the fifth letter, the center of the word is the symmetrical axis of the H. In this photo, that axis appears to already be in alignment with the hashes and the midfield logo, but not aligned with the SEZ outline entrance, nor does the word itself appear to be centered between oob lines of the end zone.

I am aghast.
