Won't last. 38 to 46 percent of the country will favor its complete abolition by the end of the week.

These people's devotion to Trump knows no bounds.

I fully expect "fuck the mail!" chants or some such at his upcoming rallies.

My mailman told me he will be at the DNC on Thursday, protesting with a bunch of other postal workers. I am going to join them.

Why would you protest at the DNC? I realize you're in the city based upon your avatar, but I mean, aren't you showing up to protest the guys trying to save the USPS?

Same reason I called all of my reps, Democrats included, and demanded action.

The effort from Congress is to restore to January 1, 2020 status.  So, by the letter of his statement, suspending initiatives is not enough.  These need to be reversed.

Exactly. Now that 600+ sorting machines have been removed from key states, the postmaster general wants you to know he will suspend future actions. You know, for integrity

And they're still dismantling processing equipment, at least in Michigan.  Shocked that a member of the trump administration lied to us.

I bet Pelosi will show him by theatrically ripping up a transcript of the phone call!

Anecdotal and just a single data point, but I've received zero pieces of mail for my office since this time last week.  That has never happened before.

Same.  I’ll go a few days without getting anything and then get a lot.  I see the mail guy out every day, though.

I’ve been checking the post marks and nothing is crazy late so there’s that.  I still pay all of our bills through the mail and only one check seemed like it took a long time.

When I was outside yesterday, the special delivery truck for USPS came screaming down our street (we live on a dead-end) to my neighbors' home. Driver must have practically thrown that package from the truck while it was still moving they were so fast. They are valiantly attempting to keep up is all I gotta say. I need to take them some more cookies.

THIS.  IS.  WHAT.  THEY.  WANT.

They want to destroy literally every single institution that benefits the people/provides any public value.  Destroy it, and you can then claim it is valueless.

Then, replace it with a for-profit enterprise that costs (and this is for real) 10X as much or more, and almost always, one that benefits the regime or its cronies (who then bestow their good fortune on the regime by throwing expensive parties at Mar A Lago, etc. -- basic money laundering shit).

This is a key hallmark of a fascist regime -- not using that term casually or rhetorically, fascism actually involves a corporatist system where corporations are intertwined with the regime, and the profits all spin out to insiders.

A criminal enterprise is running our country right now.  And half of Americans think it's great.
