Not everyone is going to be able to pay the increase and continue to eat eggs.  Choices are going to have to be made!

Eggs are bad for your cholesterol anyways.

Yeah, $80 per ticket increase.  But of course this is an $80 increase over last year which was increased over 2023 to account for the 7th game.  I think they snuck these on us a couple of times the last 10 years while saying they haven't increased prices.  Oh well, it's a blended $80 and I'm going to pay it either way.

To be fair….my recollection is that ‘24 total price was the same as ‘23, despite 7 games vs 6

i believe that is correct.  the 7th game was "free" last year.  80.00 bump minus one game is the double whammy.

back in the day when there was an actual price on the ticket, season ticket cost was basically one game lower than if you bought all game tickets separately.

the ticket price is going to keep going up, 1) offsets the grandfathered LHF seat donation and 2) going to push against the secondary market some IMO.

Maybe we should start sucking again to ebb the demand.

On another note, how does the ticket website work for season tickets? I saw a group of them in the upper deck on the home side that I liked, but it said they're $600 for the season plus a $500-600 donation. So idk how this silly thing works. Do I pay only 600 or am I having to pay 1100-1200? Does the donation money get you tickets for the OU game as well?

Well thank goodness! Del Conte also mentioned that the athletic department took “4,000 tickets away from brokers and gave them back to you all” for football.

But you still have plenty of new donors that will pay a higher donation fee so why take it out of every fan that's dealt with the ups and downs. Maybe it's the only game in town and the population is big enough but I would feel at some point foundation members might need to feel like there is some benefit.

Lol the Texas AD does not give two shits about fans that have dealt with the ups and downs. Incredibly greedy organization over the years.

Nothing on that but I did receive an OU ticket request notice.  I signed up for same amount I always have but then read the email closer and it noted ticket eligibility is tied to donations.  I sent an email asking for confirmation that NIL Donations will count towards that number.  If that isn't the case and I'm not eligible, I'll be dropping NIL donations.  No way I donate to NIL instead of the ridiculous administrative bloat and waste that is the LHF and get rewarded by having to pay 3rd party OU tix.  Would also be the type of dumb policy the idiots at the LHF would put in place.

Anybody got a new seat selection date yet?

I emailed my contact with the LHF last week, and they said they expect to send that info on Thursday of this week (April 10th).

My understanding is the Texas One Fund counts towards Loyalty Points, which puts you higher in the pecking order for when you choose seats or if you make the cutoff for away game or bowl game tickets; but the number of OU tickets/Away Game Tickets/Bowl Game Tickets you can get is based on you LHF donations for that season only.

That's my read as well.  If confirmed, I'm going to rethink donations all together.  If anything needs to be DOGE'D it's the Longhorn Foundation and ridiculous Belmont continues to require funds be allocated there.

Honest question: is this a negative reaction to prices going up, or to actual bloat in the LHF?  I have zero exposure to the LHF organization other than occasional emails from them and when I pay my seat donation YoY.  Maybe once a year I call in with a question about seat selection and the service has been good.  Is there a massive headcount hiding in the LHF that is causing prices to be so high? My assumption is that they are charging what the market will pay, not pricing based on their costs.

The Athletic Department is a different question - people always point out bloat there and with the dual mens/women's AD structure maybe that was the case.  I thought CDC had cleaned up some of that?

It's a long standing somewhat educated belief of mine (although the educated component is a bit dated as I don't know anyone currently in a position to share meaningful direct knowledge) that there is significant bloat in the LHF (in addition to Belmont).  If your goal is winning games, I think your dollar goes a lot further with Texas One compared to other depts.  I get why One Fund Donors did not get "loyalty" credit for first couple of years considering NCAA ramifications, but now that those concerns are gone, it just irks me there are self serving policies in place attempting to make sure the LHF still gets theirs.  There are probably others on this board with more knowledge than I have about the inner workings that can correct me if my instincts are wrong.

Starts next week. And I guess you have the option of not doing anything and it will just renew the same seats correct?

Did anyone confirm what we had heard the other year that if you move seats you are no longer grandfathered into the seat donation? Is that any move at all or just different sections?

Which btw was such a joke since they just decided to raise the ticket prices instead so everyone is still stuck with it.

Correct. Applies to any move at all.

Will it auto-renew your existing seats if you do nothing?  I will be on a flight during my window.

You only need to do something if you want to add/reduce/move seats (assuming you renewed before the deadline last month). If you want your seats the way they are, you don't have to do a thing.

You have to buy parking though, so just do that later.
