There is no way this is correct.

I know actors are pretty much infallible, but I’m going to guess he misused the term “turnout.”  97% turnout is impossible sans dictatorship, but 97% of the vote isn’t that far-fetched.

I don't agree with that.  It sets a narrative and frames any future election challenges.  Florida in 2000 would've been viewed through a very different lens if the networks hadn't called it for Bush.

You're implying that media calls for a Biden victory would somehow mute court challenges.  That's not possible.  This is going to play out through the courts and the legislature, and nothing any media outlet does will have one iota of influence on the outcome.

Biden isn't going to accept until the networks call it, which I think might be tonight once Nevada dumps another batch of votes at 6pm, then AP will call it. Biden will do acceptance speech.

Legally, nothing is officially until counts are certified by Dec. 1, electors vote Dec 14th, and that vote must be sent to Senate no later than Dec 23

new congress announces results on Jan 6, 2021

And the other networks want Fox to call it first.

And it's looking more and more like their call on AZ was right (along with the AP). Their decision desk stuck to their guns on that one.

Got a hunch once that happens they probably will because the decision desk guys give zero fucks.

Which should be sometime this evening right?

I thought so, but they're taking forever. It's only at 13,834 right now. Don't know if it makes it to 32,500 by tonight.

I'm not implying anything of the sort.  Obviously, Gore's challenges went on long after the networks declared Florida for Bush.  But the networks' early call of that definitely impacted the public's perception of the legitimacy of Gore's challenge.

They called it for Gore first, then went to too close to call, then for Bush, then back to too close to call, all by late night/early morning of election day.  The original count and first full state recount finding Bush ahead were much more dispositive.

And that matters how?  Trump is going to trample all over tradition, decorum, you name it . . . nothing the media does, one way or the other, matters.

I just don't see it as important in the least.  The way Trump handles this election count is what is going to frame things for the public in the future.  The "media" is a complete afterhought.

Public perception matters in a representative democracy.  The tweets right above this post from Dan Crenshaw reflects that.  If public perception about the legitimacy of Trump's challenges didn't matter, do you think Lt. Dan would be calling out his new colleague?

The networks' calling this race for Biden will only further undermine the legitimacy of Trump's position.  And that's going to cause even further erosion of his support among the GOP officeholders/bigwigs.

GA is too close to call. Margin so small a recount will happen automatically. Won't know shit until Dec. 1

PA - AP doesn't want to call it until margin grows from 13,641 to recount threshold of 0.5%, or 32,500

AZ is still too close to call for some people, but AP/FOX sticking by their calls.

No one fucking knows why Nevada hasn't been called. It's done. There is another Clark County drop at 6pm.

No shit, I thought Fox hired all the babes, then I found Kate Baldwin (sp?), Pamela Brown (Phyllis George's daughter), and the black babe.

If Trump comes to the conclusion that the end is near and that he'll have to be checking out of the White House Hilton....what would be on his list of "Top 3 Things to do" before he checks out?

AZ Secretary of State easy on the eyes

I said this yesterday and was roundly shouted down.

It seems that in the Covid Times, she has grown out her hair, which looks a lot better on her.

Try to pardon himself.

And if that doesn't work...swallow his pride, resign and hope Pence will keep his word to pardon Trump.

Who was the NBC hottie assigned to Austin for that election?  Don't believe she's still with the network but sorta became a star after that election.

It has also become clear that Biden has gotten a majority in the national popular vote.  He is just the second of the last five presidents to be elected to his first term with a majority of the popular vote (Obama being the other).

He gave the best stand up performance I’ve ever seen. Went off script, mostly improv, in Houston 20 years ago.

One of my favorites, but have never seen him live.
