Tax returns shouldn’t have shown up yet on inter as should they?
this was never going their way, court?  Trying to figure out what would have happened to spook them more than they already were (they should have already been cranked to an 11 on the fear meter).

Want to see the crosstabs on this one (warning - partisan poll):

However, it goes along with most Texas polls showing Trump with at most a very slim lead. Most are a statistical dead heat.

Will Bad Teammate show up? Nevermind

will the debate happen tomorrow night?  is there any decent chance Trump won't show up because Joe won't pee-pee into a cup?

in typical Trump fashion, he's throwing out the idea that there must be a drug test before the debate or else it's not happening.  it's showmanship, but also an out so that Trump won't have to show up.  i'm sure there's internal fighting about it - should Trump go through with it or not.  what's the upside and what's the downside.  as much as Trump loves the spotlight and attention, it would be like him to be dramatic and call it off because Joe won't take a drug test.  and Trump can run with that at all of his rallies, where he's more comfortable.

With the news coming out that Wall Street is donating more to Biden and headlines like this:

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/28/jeremy-siegel-stocks-could-boom-in-2021-no-matter-who-is-president.html

makes me think the Trump campaign has been put on notice by the big money that the administration has outlived its usefulness. The bungling of COVID and social unrest, as well as continuing tensions with China, has made Wall Street realize that 4 more years of this will wipe out any gains they may have had from his first 3 years. And really, the run up to DOW 20k! got rolling during Obama's last term. Also, I'm sure the other boys in the Rich Kid's Club aren't too happy about a bright spotlight being shone on the lack of taxes that they get away with. The longer this goes on, the longer the rich realize that they're better off with old status quo in Biden than another 4 years of Trump. For them, it's a win/win. The progressives are still mad that a Centrist is in office and they get an old white guy who has a long history in Washington who knows how to balance getting rich people rich without angering the masses back in the saddle.

Please let this happen. An Adderall addict dodging the debate due to his opponent refusing to submit a urine sample.

Could have something to do with this :

I’ve been saying for awhile now that Nebraska 02 looks good for Biden and it’s a very important electoral vote.

Biden’s easiest path to victory is : Clinton states + Nebraska 02 + Michigan + Arizona + Wisconsin

The above equals 270 and it seems like Biden has a decent / reliable lead in all of them.

going further down the list.  It feels like #6-#11 are tossup status. They could go either way. Trump probably isn’t likely to win all 5 of them. Even Texas has narrowed up considerably from where it was 4 years ago.

I still think Biden has a great shot. He just has to do well or at least ok in the debate tomorrow.

Not a chance - it would turn into a Biden town hall

Biden should say something like "The President said he questions my physical fitness. I challenge him, right now, to a mile race. We can do it right here.  We're both wearing suits and dress shoes, so neither one of us has and advantage. If the President needs time to change his diaper, I'll allow it."

Make Trump back down pronto.

He wanted to be compared to Lincoln....

Maybe this was some type of excise tax on his law practice, or his wife's property but income tax didn't start until the 1901s.

There was a federal income tax under Lincoln.

Someone above got it, but incorrect.  Revenue Act of 1861 created the first "income tax" if you will.  Revenue Act of 1862 created the IRS and excise taxes on goods.

We know a bunch of random facts.  That doesn't mean we're smart.

Seriously, this is a smart board.  Even the people you disagree with and think are mouth breathers are smarter than like 90% of this country.  The dumbest person here is smarter than at least 80% of the population.

First they say, 'no, can't vote absentee in spite of the pandemic.' Now they say 'well, you can't vote in person because of the pandemic.' Obvious suppression is obvious. I am never voting for these lame brains again.

As the dumbest mother fucker on this board, I'm pretty pissed you don't recognize that I'm smarter than 81% of the population.

This is huge for Biden.

It's about where I was expecting for Biden.

For a couple of sanity checks on the sample

420 respondents, MOE +/- 5.3%

Same sample has Eastman trailing Bacon by 2 points.  That's almost exactly where they ended up in 2018.  I expect Eastman to do better this time around, because she has been working it since the loss in 2018, its a presidential cycle, and she is much better funded. But Bacon is also more established and funded.

The last section indicates 2016 voting pattern: 39% Trump, 35% Clinton, 10% other, 14% didn't vote.  In 2016, it went 48/46 Trump.  So, the sample is slightly more Trump heavy, and definitely more "other" heavy, than what happened in the District.

One advantage Biden has with Eastman running is turnout.  She is a progressive, and is pushing M4A. Progressive/socialists aren't staying home in NE-2.  Maybe they will write in Bernie or Warren, but they are showing up.

Niiiccceee ...

The national results from Monmouth today that had Biden's lead down to +5 LV / +6 RV (down from  +7 LV / +9 RV in Sept. 10 poll) had me getting a bit nervous, but getting a PA lead that is hopefully beyond the reach of Trump / Barr fuckery would do a lot to put my mind more at ease.

Good point, what's the old George Carlin saying, "Think about how dumb the average Surly poster is...then realize 90% of America is dumber than that.  And 30% of those people go to Texas A&M or Oklahoma.  And there's only a 10% chance of that everytime."

Sadly this is 100 percent correct. Even our rare trump troll mouthbreathers I have to admit are at least the upper end of the intelligence scale.

It’s a huge deal because the Trump campaign has been focusing on a florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania path.

if Biden gets Arizona, Wisconsin, this district, and Michigan to go along with Hilary states....... he doesn’t need Florida, Pennsylvania, or North Carolina at all.

It’s awesome.

pretty much everyone in this thread wants Biden to win so freaking bad, but I bet hardly any of us voted for Biden in the primary. The hatred for Trump has seemingly united both democrats and independents around Biden.

i don’t even give a flip if Biden only lasts one year and passes the presidency off to Harris. I just want my sanity back. I’m sick of watching the news and knowing instantly that Trump is lying again. It seems crazy that 35-40% of our country can’t pick up on that or they are just weirdos who enjoy being lied too all of the time.

I’m pretty sure how you feel now is how that 35-40% felt in the Obama years while drinking from the Fox sewer line.

Not true actually.

idiot conservatives always bring up one Obama lie “ if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”. Trump gave us more to work with in 6 months than Obama gave conservatives over 8 years.

I’m not saying their feelings were legitimate, I’m saying their feelings were manufactured by Fox propaganda.
